Scamming the Money, the Photos, the Personal Data, the Teachers: the Means of the Scams are Mutating Too Quickly Like the Virus, the Department of Education Strengthens on the Education of Anti-Scamming
Last year, there were 43,000 members of the country who were targeted by the scam artists, the students took up about ten-percent, a total of 4,334. There were the child of N.T.U. professor who got scammed over $160,000N.T.s from buying the textbooks, the middle school students buying up the gaming credits, getting scammed, and there were the students who’d sent their sexual illicit photos and had a quid-pro-quo with the scam artists. There’s a new means of scamming by the day, the elementary school teacher said that the means of scamming the students are faster than the mutations of the virus, if the scam artist rings were successful in fooling the students, then, the students will become, victims.
The professor of applied mechanics from N.T.U., Wang’s son, is now in his senior year, and last year, he’d ordered his textbooks from a notable bookstore online, and got scammed for$165,000N.T.s in that instance, and afterwards, there were the scam artists who’d attempted to use the same measures to scam his families, but thankfully for the “precedence”, they’d only gotten scammed once.
Wang recalled what happened, stated that the scam artists seemed to have gotten a hold of his son’s personal data, called him that there were twenty extra orders of his books that needed to get canceled, then, he received a call with the area code of +886 post office, claimed that a confirmation code is needed on the wired amount, and asked his son to use an ATM, to get a payment code from a super convenience store kiosk in order to cancel the order, they thought that the charged amount would get returned, but, the number was not in service anymore.
Not only are the college students getting scammed, the middle and high school students are among the targets for the scam artist rings. Mr. Chen has a last year middle school student, who’d bought the game credits using his cell phone multiple times, but afterwards, the seller of the gaming credits disconnected, and the child realized that he’d been, scammed.
There were the instances where the scam artists knew the children are not economically capable, enticed them with the photos of nudity for money. The assistant secretary of Total Education Foundation, Lee told, that children aren’t sensitive enough over the sexually illicit photos, that they would easily disregard the severity of handing out the photos themselves nude.
And, this, is how the target “audience” of scam artists are shifting, to the younger generations here, because, they’re still, easy targets like the elderly population, and this is really bad, because, these scam artists can pop up anywhere, and, we don’t have our guards up, which makes us, easy targets.
