Life, the Obstacle Course

Play the Music for the Raccoons

Using an unproven way, to treat the, “infestations” of a wildlife that created too much, raucous in your, backyards, translated…

The raccoons, frequented my home again!  As night drew in, I sat on my bed, reading, then came, the rustling noises.  Yep, must be those, raccoons, coming, to find their, nest again, wanted to, destroy my house!  I’d, immediately, turned off the lights, hid myself by the second floor window, with a baseball in hand, readied myself, to give them a good spanking.  Held my breaths in, waited until they all arrived, then, I will, come out into the open, and, smack!  Shock them all!

As I’d waited on, I’d recalled a letter a friend of mine wrote to me, she’d told me, “Don’t beat the racoons!  P~L~E~A~S~E!!!”, she and her family loved the racoons, especially, her son, felt especially that deep a connection, with critters like it with the black eyes, ring around the tails.  One year, as they entered into the U.S., the custom’s asked them what they’d come to the States for, they’d answered, that they were here, to see the racoons!  (I can assure you, that their replies had the custom’s officer’s jaw dropped, then, smiling on, he would’ve, never, forgotten them!”

So, no hitting then, but, what can I, do about them?

I’d told my trouble to my neighbor, Neal.  Neal told me, “You should play music for them!”, and continued, “My next door neighbor had, and in the end, all the raccoons that visited his property, all went to, your home.”

the little rascals, going through our, garbage…

Music are, pleasant to our, ears, but, can it really work, in, getting the raccoons, off, my property?

FM109.4 is a local classic music station here, twenty-four-hours, all day and all night.  Fine then, seeing how the Gods don’t want me to, demolish them, I guess, I should invite in the masters, Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin, and many others, to use their batons, instead of my baseball bat, see if, I can, end the little rascals’ raid with the hertz, to beckon those, cute raccoon boys and raccoon girls, to, NEVER visit my home, or my yard again.

With that tiny radio placed by my window, and, it was like I’d, stuck that charm on my window, toward where the raccoons, would frequent.  The music sound off, the soundwaves vibrated through the air and, it’d, gotten out, the “Clock” by Liszt, Schindler’s List by that famous pianist, along with the heavenly sounds of, Bach……………

A day, two days, I’d, watched closely, listened to the sounds from all around me.  About a week later, my nerves, finally, loosened down.  The skies turned gray, the snow came, covering the radio I’d placed outside in my yard, I still hear the songs played on.  In the middle of the night, came a rain in the wintertime, ad, there was, the emcee’s introducing the listeners to the Cleveland Orchestra’s songs for the month of, December.

Music for the racoons, and in the end—they’d not listened to any of the songs I’d, played for them!

Fine then, you don’t listen, well, bye-bye!

And so, this, is how someone used the means of the tell-tales to demolish the raccoons from visiting her home, and, did it work, probably not, because, the raccoons are, wild animals, and we can’t, EVER, control these wild animals, we can only, learn to, coexist in peace with them, like, locking the lid of your garbage can, and try NOT to leave any garbage bags with leftover foods inside by the curbside, beyond that, there’s not much you can do, unless, you want to, call in, an, exterminator, but that should only be, a LAST, resort!
