The Remedies of Book, Saving the Thirty-Million Character Difference Using Children’s Illustrated Books

How the private organizations are, helping to turn around the reading deficiencies of children in the distant regions, with this, program that’s, working effectively right now.  On helping with the literacy of young children here, off of the Front Page Sections, translated…

A lot of privately-funded organizations had entered into the distant-region areas, to help turn the inequality of literacy of children in distant region areas around.  The Boyo Social Welfare Foundation set up a total of seventeen afterschool help center across Taiwan, and daily, there are, over 3,000 children who received help there; the Wingspan Reading Foundation of Taiwan started by a group of medical professionals, not only in their clinics, they’d walked into the distant-region areas, to advocate reading for the early childhood years, providing the parents with the illustrated books, to help the parents use the means of read along with their own young as a means of preventative medical treatment measures.  They’d worked hard, and tried to shorten the distance of more than three million characters between the higher socioeconomic status families and the lower.

The founder of Boyo Social Welfare Foundation, Lee told, for children born in lesser backgrounds, there’s a lacking of reading materials, which affects their reading comprehension abilities, and the abilities to understand the science subjects.  Hsu, the department manager of the Boyo Social Welfare Foundation stated, that the afterschool program encouraged children to read massive volumes of classics in Chinese and in English, that there are the reading corners set up at the homework help classrooms, that the kids can check out the books to read at any time.

As Christmas nears, Hsu told, that the children before Christmas and Children’s Day, can write down the titles of books they want, and before the holidays, they will receive them as presents.

Chen, the C.E.O. of the Taiwan Wingspan Reading Foundation said, the anthropology researchers from Harvard, Hart and Risley found, that in the higher socioeconomic families, children by a year and a half will hear the adults say 1.1 million words per year, while the children from lesser backgrounds will only hear about three million words; wait until the child is four, the children from lesser backgrounds had heard 32 million words less than the children from better economic backgrounds.

The foundation works with the sanitation offices of the distant regions, as the parents bring their young to get treated or when an infant in born, the illustrated books would be presented to the families, and encouraging the parents to read along with their own young.

Chen told, that as the physicians present children with the books, from the way they’re reading, flipping through the pages, the physicians will be able to tell the developments of the child, they’d encouraged the treating physicians to use the illustrated books when treating children, to help the children get the stimuli of language that they are in need of through reading; they’d also discovered, that the families where no reading occurred runs a higher risk of becoming a higher risk families, and they would introduced the parents to reading to their young.

Chen told, that there are currently a total of seventy-six location of Wingspan, located at the distant-region offices of sanitations, preschools, or presented to the families through the home visits the physicians make, to help turn around the lacking of reading for children in distant regions.  During the outbreaks, the foundation had provided the reading packs, the iPad, and set up the reading classes, so the children continue to learn.

And so, this, is an effective program, and, it’s going, because there’s this need, and these foundations see it, and, will keep on, advocating the values of the importance of reading.
