Another death, of an elderly who was, immobile, off of the Front Page Sections, translated…
The eighty-one-year-old elderly man, Hong in Banciao, Hsinbei City had been bedridden from his stroke for many years, early yesterday morning, the electric blanket short-circuited, and caught on fire, he couldn’t escape, as his daughter was awakened to the fires, the room was already, filled with smoke, she couldn’t open the bedroom door, and can only, get to safety with other members of her family, and, called the police for help. By the time the police, the fire department came, by the time the fire was put out, the elderly was burned to death, they’d rushed him to the hospital, he’d died, the family was in deep grief.
The police investigated and found, that Hong was from Changwha, after he married, he’d moved to Banciao and lived there for over forty years, the apartment that caught fire was the first property he bought, he’d lived there with his wife for long, a few years ago, her daughter brought the grandchildren, moved in, the family of five took care of each other. Hong had diabetes for more than a decade, four years ago, he had a stroke, bedridden long-term, and was looked after by his wife and daughter.
The fire department of Hsinbei City rushed to the location during the midnight hours of last, the room where Hong lived in is already in flames, the fifty-four-year-old daughter cried out, “my father’s still in there!”. The firefighters pulled the hose into the house, and it took them twenty minutes to put out the fire, but, Hong had third-degree burns all over his body, was already dead; the paramedics performed CPR on him all the way to the hospital, but he’d still, died.
The fire department went to check the source of the fire, and believed, that it was the electric blanket that the elderly man used short-circuited, and caused the fire, but the real reason for the fire is still being investigated by the forensic investigators.
And so, this, is quite, unfortunate, but this man was immobilized, and, couldn’t escape, and this still just showed, how dangerous, these household items can be, and we must use these items with caution, and it’s just, another, unfortunate, death.
