Tragedies of, long-term care, again, from the Front Page Sections, translated…
The fifty-two-year-old man, Jiang lived in with his eighty-one-year-old elderly mother with oral cancer, Jiang attempted suicide by jumping off into a river to drown himself, his mother was found with her nose and mouth taped up, no sign of life, she was rushed to the hospital, but died. The police suspected that Jiang became too burdened with caring for his mother, after smothering his own mother to death, he’d attempted to suicide. After Jiang leapt into the river, he was still not yet discovered, the fire department is continuing in their search of him currently.
The police found, that Jiang had been unemployed long-term, unstable psychologically, divorced, with two sons, his sons live with his ex, he and his mother who was diagnosed with cancer live together in Datong District in Taipei.
At 12:30 in the afternoon yesterday Jiang rode his scooter to the Taipei Bridge and leapt into the river to commit suicide, the locals found a slipper and the scooter on the bridge, called the police, the police reviewed the surveillance, found that Jiang had leapt into the river, and, based off of the license plate, contacted his families. Jiang’s son arrived, identified the scooter as his father’s, his father didn’t pick up the phones, he’d taken the keys out of the ignition of his father’s scooter, and went with the police to his father’s home to check.
The patrol officer and his son found that Jiang’s mother was lying in the living room, no sign of life, her head was wrapped by white tape, and her mouth and nose taped up, the paramedics rushed in and resuscitated her, and on the way to the hospital, she’d regained her vital, but, after they arrived at the hospital, the couldn’t save her life.
Because there was no signs of struggles at home, nor a weapon, the police reviewed over the surveillance, found no strangers une4tering into Jiang’s home, and so, they’d suspected that after Jiang murdered his mother he’d committed suicide. But, four hours after Jiang left home, Jiang’s mother regained her signs of life again, the D.A. will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
And, so, this, is how this ended, the man could no longer shoulder the burdens of caring for his own ailing mother alone, and he’d, killed her, then, committed suicide, and this is still due to the lack of social support, emotional support that these sole caretakers needed, and there will be more of these cases all around the world, because people are living longer, longer, and longer by the year, and, we will be more and more unhealthy, as our lives are, longer still.
