And you still don’t think, these, teenage pregnancies aren’t causing a big problem to the society here??? Off of the Front Page Sections, translated…
The nineteen-year-old woman, Lu got pregnant out of wedlock, gave birth to her fetus in the toilet of her own, she was thrilled, called out to help to her seventy-three-year-old grandmother, as the elderly woman saw the fetus not crying, she’d not known what to do, and called up Lu’s father to help; Lu’s father thought that the fetus was a “stillborn”, wrapped it up in a trash bag, with the bricks, then, tossed it into the Chienzhen River, the body of the fetus hadn’t been discovered to date. The Kaohsiung District Court charged the father and daughter on abandonment, the grandmother seven months in prison, on probation for two years, and they’re all mandated to pay $50,000N.T. and $30,000N.T. to the national treasury, and mandated to take the classes provided by the justice systems.
The verdict pointed out, that Lu’s parents are divorced, and she lives with her father, paternal grandparents, last March she was pregnant out of wedlock, she’d feared it would upset her families, she’d never gone to the hospitals for her prenatal checks; and, about seven months into her pregnancy, at a little past five in the afternoon on December sixth last year, at the toilet of her downstair bathrooms, Lu gave birth, the infant didn’t cry, didn’t have a heart beat, she was so thrilled she’d called out to her grandmother to help her out.
The grandmother saw the bathroom floor covered in blood, the head of the infant afloat in the toilet, she couldn’t do anything, she’d called Lu’s father on the third floor of their home. Lu’s father came downstairs, believed that the fetus was a stillborn, and worried that his daughter’s being pregnant out of wedlock might get out, and his mother told him, to “get rid of it quickly”, he’d scooped up the infant from the toilet, and, wrapped the stillborn in the green garbage bag his mother handed to him, placed the bricks inside the trash bag, rode the scooter to the river and disposed of the fetus’s body there.
Lu felt sick after giving birth, the physicians who’d checked her out found that she’d shown symptoms of having just given birth, but no signs of the baby, and inquired, that was when Lu’s father admitted to disposing of the fetus; the hospital then notified the police, the police started searching the river for the trash bag, but made no discoveries of it.
As the D.A. interrogated the father and the grandmother, they’d both reiterated that the fetus was a stillborn at birth. But the fetus was never discovered, the D.A. believed, that Lu’s father and his own mother had discussed of the disposal of the fetus, that Lu didn’t know about it, and only charged the father and grandmother on the abandonment of the body.
The Kaohsiung District Court believed, that even if Lu gave birth to a stillborn, Lu’s father and grandmother shouldn’t have just, thrown the fetus out, that they should’ve gone to the hospital to report the death, that they’d, disposed of the body into the river, lacking that respect for life, gave them both probation on the disposal of the corpse of the infant.
And so, because the body wasn’t found yet, there’s no way of knowing, if the fetus was alive when he came out, and, this is a really bad way of handling the matter, just because your daughter gave birth out of wedlock, and, you’re worried about her reputation, what would the townsfolks say, etc., etc., etc., you and your mother tossed the fetus out, and the two of you deserved to get charged, with a more serious count of crime, instead of just abandonment, disposal of the body, and you deserve a real jail sentence for it, but you only received probation for some reasons, and justice still wasn’t, served here!
