The Bird Pines Residential Fire, the Uncle Died, in the Attempt to Save His Own Niece Life

Tragedies, that hit, on the holidays, such a loss, of their, loved ones, off of the Newspapers, translated…

In Bird Pines District in Kaohsiung, at a four-story mansion, early in the midnight hours, a fire started, the family who’d owned the property escaped the fires in the dead of night, and as the adults escaped, they’d found, that the nine-year-old young girl, Su hadn’t, the eldest uncle rushed into the fire, wanting to save her, but got trapped, he and his niece fell unconscious in the master bedroom, the uncle was saved, but was injured too severely, and died, although the young girl regained her heartbeat, she is still struggling between life and death currently.  The point of where the fire started was suspected to be the air-conditioning unit on the fourth floor, it looked like the wires caught on fire, but the police, fire department are still, waiting on the results.

The firefighters told, that the scenes of the fire is constantly changing, the people in the homes, lacking in proper equipment, that they should not risk, getting back into the fires, in case of putting themselves in danger.  There’s some distance between where the fire got started in the living room, and the bedrooms, back then, the smoke already got into the bedroom, the uncle and niece, had they shut the doors tightly, and waited to be rescued, they might stand a chance.

The police, fire department investigated that the mansion was occupied an extended family of twelve, the seventy-one year-old elderly couple lived on the second floor, the family of six of the eldest son on the third, the second son’s family of four, living on the fourth floor, there were ten people inside as the fire started.

The female owner of the property told, that at around five in the morn when she got up to got to the bathrooms, she’d heard cackling noises outside her bedroom, then she’d heard her eldest son, eldest daughter-in-law cried loudly, “ESCAPE!”, that was when she’d known that there’s a fire; her husband and son tried to extinguish the fire with a fire extinguisher, but the fire raged, with the smokes getting thick, the two men were burned.  The family escaped outside in the dark, found that the nine-year-old young granddaughter seemed to have gotten trapped inside, the forty-seven-year-old eldest son risked his life, ran into the house to rescue her, but, neither made it out.

The firefighters told, that the location of the fires were in the den, the master bedroom, bedrooms, as well as the living room, where they’d suspected the fire first got started, and because there’s the air-tight windows in the den, and there’s no other ventilating windows in the living room, the smokes started accumulating, and moved downward, and even if you stayed close to the ground, it would be next to impossible for the families to get out of it alive; during the rescue, the firefighters can’t even see their own hands extended before them, and, used their senses of touch, to check every room, until they finally got to the two, and it was, too late.

And so this, is, a tragic, accident, with two fatalities, and this still just showed, how important it is, to have the ventilating windows, and, how regularly we all need to, make sure that everything (the fire extinguisher we have in our homes, the smoke alarms, etc., etc., etc., etc.) are functional, and, map out that escape route, and alternative ways out, in case, beforehand.  This could, reduce the risks of dying in an accidental fire like this one.
