No justice still, three years, after the brutal dismemberment, sort of! From the Front Page Sections, translated…
Three years ago, the archery coach, Chen raped and murdered a female student, Kao, as he’d strangled her to death, he’d disposed of her body in the wild, cut off her nipple, and vagina as a memento of the murder, in his first trial he was sentenced to death, and the second trial believed, that Chen had “turned himself in”, and changed the death sentence to a life-term, the Highest Court tossed back the verdict, and mandated a retrial; the highest court yesterday on the retrial, found that Chen didn’t qualify for the terms of turning himself in, but still sentenced him to a life-term, and stripped him of his government post for life.
The first retrial by the high courts found that Chen showed no remorse, behaved with such malice, but due to the lack of practical precedence, with a moderate chance of being reformed, and can only be given the life-sentence. Kao’s father was in court, and after he’d heard the verdict, he was furious, and, criticized the justice system, that a murder had, escaped death penalty, demanded that the government explain “are we, doing away with the death penalty now!”
The retrial court stated, based off of witness testimonies and evidences, it’s affirmative, that Chen intended to rape, and murder the victim, charged with disposing of the corpse, Chen’s claims of “someone threatened me to”, wasn’t taken by the courts.
After the murder, Chen turned himself in to the substation, and confessed to murder, the first retrial found, that based off of the experiences of the officers and the evidence, they already suspected Chen for murder, that it’d not fitted to the terms of reducing his sentence because he turned himself in.
Chen had told his friend, that he will check the newspapers for the stories printed of his murder, and collect the articles, “maybe I can get published, and make money off of it…The Psychokiller’s Confessions of Murder”; the first retrial found him with no sense of remorse, not examined his own personality, that there’s a huge problem with his psychological state, that he’d fitted as “The most serious sort of crimes”.
Nothing will ever make up for the loss of the victim’s families, it can’t be forgiven, plus the district attorney also asked for the death penalty for him, and, the courts believed that he should be given the death penalty, to do the murder victim justice.
But practically, the Highest Courts believed, that for the death penalty to be set, there’s need for proof of the suspect’s never having the possibilities of being reformed. The first retrial asked the Justice Forensic Psychology Foundation to evaluate, which showed that Chen can be reformed, that there’s a lowered risk of him committing such a heinous crime again, believed that he can be corrected with counseling, group therapy, and the life education courses.
And so, this is how this, murderer escaped death, because the system found him to have the ability to get reformed, and that’s still, NO justice for the victim, or the families of the victim he’d brutally murdered, and he had, cut her apart, to keep her “parts” as memento too, how does that show that he can be reformed??? Hole in the justice system here!!!
