The demented elderly population now, all had that TARGET on their, backs here, and the law does SHIT to protect them! Off of the Front Page Sections, translated…
The family member of a demented patient, Liu told, that over a decade ago, her husband was enticed out, and didn’t return until six months afterwards, and in two months, he got scammed over a hundred million dollars, and afterwards, the neurologist diagnosed him as having dementia, she’d fought for a dozen times in court, and only received about twenty-percent of the amount her husband had lost. The C.E.O. of Taiwan Alzheimer’s Foundation, Tang told, that the demented population may not just have the problems in memories, but they may get in trouble legally a lot too, they were often targeted by the scam artist groups, used as dummy accounts too, that there should be laws, set up, based off of the needs of these elderly who are demented, to protect them from getting scammed.
The foundation told, that there are a ton of cases of the demented individuals’ getting scammed, that there’s a lacking in the legal settings to prevent them from getting extorted, and a lot of the cases showed that the justice system, and those who enforced the law lacking a complete understanding of the situations of the demented population, which made it even harder for the demented individuals and their families to find the help that they’re in dire need of.
that bulls’ eye on their backs!
The former grand justice, Hsu also has a family member who’s been diagnosed, she believed that the justice system shouldn’t just review over the facts thoroughly, but needed to protect the rights, to defend the rights of, to help out the victims. She’d used the example of the juvenile court cases, suggested the reiterating of the investigative procedures, with the social workers helping with the investigations, so the judges can make the rulings that are beneficial toward the rights of the demented elderly.
Hsu observed, that those who’d committed frauds, and scams toward the demented elderly showed more empathy toward their victims, the judges’ role in the case was to “pretend to be neutral in listening to all the facts”, but overlooking the need to get to the bottom of what had actually happened to the victims themselves, and all of these kept happening within the “circles”, that nobody from the outside would know, and in the end, the cost is still shouldered by the society, as well as the justice systems.
The professor of neurology of N.T.U. Chiu told, as the demented patient got scammed, many of whom were only starting in the earlier stages, that they’d looked “normal” outside, the families weren’t on high alert, and it usually wasn’t until the patients got scammed, were the families and the patients hit, hard.
A lot of the members of the public believed that the custodies can protect the financial safety of the demented, but in actuality, the courts usually allowed the children of the demented person to oversee the assets, and not considered the civil needs of the clients, that most of the time, the courts made the rulings, unbeneficial to the right to own the assets of the individuals.
And so, this is, a huge LACKING in the system, not set up correctly, to protect the demented elderly people from getting scammed, and the judges lacked that empathy, more so than the scammers toward the demented individuals, and that’s, just SHIT!!! There’s a need for the laws to get set up correctly, to protect these demented people in the population from getting SCAMMED, because it will continue to happen, because they can’t judge for themselves, and that’s why we need the laws to step in, to protect them, only that the laws aren’t set up properly to yet!!!
