Multiple Injuries Old & New on the Pupil, with Large Bruises on the Buttocks, the Social Workers and the Caretakers Taken into Custody, the Miaoli County Government Mandate the School to Stop Operations Immediately
The privately owned Der-Fang Institution for the Mentally Decapacitated was ordered out of business, due to a student’s being abused to death. A twenty-eight year old resident, Lee, three days ago, suspected of being tied down by Lin the social worker, and Lai, the assistant, beaten to death by a steel pipe. The district attorney’s office, after reviewing over the tapes, and after investigating the facts, mandated the two out on a $100,000N.T bail each, and an autopsy is scheduled to determine the cause of death; the county government believed the institution was ill managed, not shouldered enough responsibilities in protecting the resident, fined it $300,000N.T., and ordered it to cease operations.
The mother and families of the deceased rushed to the institution yesterday to ritually call the soul back, cried, “we’d trusted you, last time we saw bruising on him, and you’d, lied to us, that he got it from bumping around!”, the families demanded the institution to take responsibilities for the death; currently, the eleven other residents are already, assigned to other facilities.
The mother of the deceased told, that her son had been a resident of the facility for eight years, on the 29th, she got a call, said that her son lost consciousness, that he was lifted to the hospital by the staff members, but before they arrived at the hospital, the mother received the news of her son’s, death. She believed, that there’s, more to it to how her son died, and reviewed over the surveillance tapes with the police, found that the workers dragged her son into the room by the neck, and they’d heard the sound of her son, getting beaten, smacked too.
The surveillance footages showed, that during the time, her son ran out of the room once, but, he was tied with a rope on his body, and, dragged back in, and, as he appeared again on the surveillance footage, he was already in a wheelchair, passed out, getting taken to the hospital, by the time he was in the hospital, her son had a fever of 40.5-degrees Celsius, and he was in a level three comatose, the medical professionals found the son to have multiple injuries new and old on him, there was a large surface area of bruising on his buttocks, they’d notified the police then.
Based off of the investigations, the deceased was suspected of getting beaten on last Thursday by a hollowed iron pipe, the massage boards, lost consciousness, rushed to the hospital and died, as the suspects, Lin and Lai were interrogated, they’d claimed that Lee became agitated, and refused to follow the disciplines, that was why they’d, hit his buttocks, his feet, one of them testified to only beating Lee seven, eight times, while the other man confessed to beating Lee dozens of times, the district attorneys scheduled for an autopsy on August eighth, to clarify the cause of death.
Lee’s mother, with her families accompanying, went to the institution, to call back her son’s soul yesterday, and was, blocked by the workers, as the families went in, they’d received a confirmation on the flips of the boards. Lee’s mother was heartbroken, stated, “my son wanted to get out of this, horrific place sooner”, accused the institution for covering up, demanded that they take full responsibilities for what happened. The institution had, locked up its doors yesterday, and not given an explanation of what had actually, happened.
And so, this, is tragic, how this guy was, abused to death, because he’s autistic, with special needs, that’s probably why those workers felt just, in abusing him, after all, he was, a special needs person, and, what the staff members did, to “discipline” this man was, awful, and they all deserve to be punished severely, and hopefully, this place will, never pass the evaluations, to open back up again!
