When the Kids Started Conflicting with One Another

How this parent, used a good example, to teach his own son, about how to, interact, to treat others he’d invited over to his home, translated…

Recently, my son and his fellow classmates were into this video game, and, I couldn’t, defeat his constant begging, so I’d given him, a Nintendo Switch, not realizing, that that was, the beginning of my, nightmares.

My son’s friend at first, were all very, courteous, asking, “Uncle, can we, come in?” then, whenever the afternoon came, there would be, flocks of children that came to my house.  None of these are, big deals, at least, I’d, given my son, the wonderful memories for him to spend time with his friends, until one day, I was in my den, then suddenly heard kids, screaming and yelling, getting loud, I’d, put down my book, and gone to check, had I not, it would’ve been okay, but what I’d seen, was thrilling.

A kid’s bike’s front wheels had been taken off, placed on the pavement, with his bike, standing back up, I saw that kid crying, screaming, and nobody around him dared made a single peep.  Don’t know what other parents would do then?  I’d, selected to squat down, and, tried to put the wheels back onto that kid’s bike, with the screws, tightening up, that kid’s cries, started, diminishing, at this time, there were other children who’d, squatted down beside me, to fix his brakes on too, and, as the bike was, totally, reassembled back, I’d, taken it for a test ride around the block, made sure it was okay to use, then, I’d, accompany that young kid, to ride his bicycle home.

it should be like this, with everybody, getting along…

but it isn’t always like this…photo from online

As I’d gotten to that kid’s house, I’d, told his parents what had happened, after all, it was when he’d come over to play at my house, that his bike got, taken, apart, and apologized to the kid, and his parents, for what had happened, in my home; gladly, the parents were, more than, understanding, stated that they knew all the kids are, naughty, that their own son can respond, quite, emotionally too.

And, was that, where it’d, ended?  Of course not, I’m sure, that everybody wants to know, who the “perp” was who’d, taken that other child’s wheels off.  That very evening, I’d called my son to me, and, told him the beliefs, of how we need to, check our own behaviors, three times a day, then, I watched, as he fell silent, I’d asked him, that if he wanted to have his friends over, then, he must be, a kind host, take good care of all of his, guests, I’m sure, he’d  understood.  And, this means of telling him, of handling the matter, I’m sure, would work, WAY better, than, grilling him on WHO did it, and I hope this can give, all the parents out there, some wisdoms, on handling similar matters in their own children’s, lives.

And so, the perp wasn’t, actually caught, but it’s either the son of the writer, or someone he was close friends with, that he was, covering, but this father didn’t BUST this son’s ass, instead, he’d, used a milder manner, to explain to him, how it isn’t, nice, for this sort of a thing to happen to one of his guests, and, hopefully, the son took it to heart, and, will watch his own behaviors (if he was the one who did it, and at this time, we really can’t tell, who, did it!), and he will, ensure, that his guests have a safe time at his house the next time he asked them over I’m sure!
