How this man overcame the hardships of his family’s economic difficulties, and, he’s now, using his own abilities, to give back to the community, a story of, true, inspiration, off of Newspaper, translated…
The pizza chain franchise owner, Wu was originally a second-generation owner of a small restaurant, but after the restaurant owned by his families closed, his father passed away, these major changes in his life made him make up his mind: “I will help my father get back the career he’d established back again.”, he’d started at the entry level positions of a store clerk, all the way to owning more than a dozen pizza chains. He’d not forgotten how he’d worked hard during his schooling years, part-timing all around, as he’d become established in his career, he’d put $200,000N.T. into an established scholarship program, to help the middle school students who grew up in poverty, to study, and help support their own, families. At age forty-nine, Wu used the name of his family’s original pizza restaurant, “Flavorful”, to establish a new chain, also, he’d shared his experiences of how he’d started from almost nothing, to how he’d, expanded his chain at Nanhwa University, and Wufeng University, as lecturing professor, to share his experiences of success, how he’d, expanded the franchise, encouraging the students, to walk a path of their, own.
In his hometown of Luodong, Yilan, the family restaurant could host a banquet of a hundred tables at a time, but, it’d not lasted, with the oil crises during his first grade year, his family business dropped sharply, causing his family to go into debt, his mother started working in the handicraft projects, and as he entered into technical high school, he’d begun, part-timing at the gas station too.
During his eighteenth year, he’d enlisted, and his father died, it’d, caused him to cry for an entire night at the army base, and he’d made up his mind: he shall begin again, where his father had, fallen down, and that he will, get everything the families had lost, back…” after his discharge, he’d worked as a delivery driver, an usher at the construction company, and, as he saw the staffmember for hire at a pizza shop, he’d, gone to the interview for it.
As he’d become the store manager in Luodong, he’d found the theatres, handed out the discount coupons, and then, transferred to the Taipei store; at twenty-seven, he’d opened up his own first franchise pizza shop in Daja, Taichung, then, all the way to Chiayi, Tainan, Kaohsiung, as well as Pingdong, he’d, expanded his pizza business. Made pizzas from nine in the morn to eleven at night, delivered the pizzas ordered, never took a day off, and worked hard, continually.
Wu’s path to entrepreneurship wasn’t smooth sailing, during the financial crises from before, he’d made around only, $3,000N.T.s per day, he’d, bitten down hard, and, still managed through the trials of, almost, unable to, give the year-end work bonuses to his employees, in the six months in 2010, he’d opened up, six new shops; the head office even wanted to get him to expand in China, in Japan, but he’d considered how young his children are, and selected to stay in Taiwan.
Four years ago, he’d pulled money out of his own pockets, and set up the “Dominoes Scholarship Foundation of Chiayi”, to help the middle school students who are in poverty stricken backgrounds. During the first few years of the start of the scholarship program, he’d awarded each student $10,000N.T.s each, this year, Wu altered the amount to $5,000N.T., so more students can benefit from the scholarship program, and he’d contemplated to set up the scholarship funds for the elementary school students also in the futures.
And so, this man had his equal hardships of his life, when he was younger, and he knew the trials of life, because he’d, lived it previously, and, he’d worked hard, made something of himself, and, now he became more able, he’d, started, giving back, to the community. What he’s doing is, amazing!
