The love of a mother, was, what finally, helped this drug-addict, turn his own life, around, off of the Newspapers, translated…
The man, Kao started getting addicted on illegal substances at age eighteen, he’d been in and out of prison, six times to date, wasted away, a good, decade of his own life, he’d even gone to his own father’s funeral, in handcuffs and ankle chains; and her mother, Kao-Lo still, not gave up on him, stayed by his side, giving him the emotional supports and encouragements, in the end, Kao not only gone off his addictions, he’d become, an anti-drug spokesperson, lectured over a thousand times all around Taiwan, he’d started, pouring himself into the nonprofit activities too. The story of how Kao turned over his own life had, moved a lot of people, the president had met him, and, yesterday, his mother received the acclaims of “Role Model Mother” of Changwha.
The seventy-five-year-old Kao-Lo was adopted, she’d shown up to receive the award with tears in her eyes, accompanied by her four children and grandchildren, gladly accepted the acclaims from the head of Changwha County, Wang. Kao told, that back then, the neighbors consoled his mother to give up on him, but his mother, never had, and warned, “if you don’t change your ways, I will, not die in peace.” He was grateful to his mother’s never abandoning him, and will use his own example, as a way, to educate his own children, and give up to the society as well.

In his second year of high school, Kao started coming into contact with amphetamine, and to buy the illegal substances, he’d sold off his father’s bonsai, his mother’s gold jewelries, and, his older sister, because she was, at wits end, she’d, “disowned him as her younger brother”, and called the cops on him.
That year in prison, his father died, with his head shaved, with the ankle cuffs and handcuffs, dragged the chains around, and went to his own father’s, funeral, the clinking sound of the chains, along with how everybody who was there, glared at him, it’d made him, hard to forget, and he’d, regretted that he wasn’t able to show filial piety toward his own father on time.
As he’d gained back a new lease in life, Kao started speaking up and out against drug abuse, and, immersed himself into the anti-drugs forums into the school campuses, and into the prisons, counseled the addicts case by case, and made a total of 1,150 lectures around the nation, and received the awards of helping youths from the president, the anti-drugs true hero award, and he’d, published his own story, “How Liang Turned His Own Life Around”, and, donated his published books to the prisons in Taiwan, and to the Changwha County offices, hoping, that the families impacted by illegal substances don’t give up on their loved ones.
And so, what made this man, turn his own life around, was his mother’s love, and how he was, impacted by his own experience, of feeling ashamed, dragging the ankle chains, in handcuffs, as he’d arrived at his own father’s, funeral, and that was, the wakeup call he’d, needed, to turn his own life back, on the, right tracks.
