The illegal searches, without, the JUSTIFICATIONS either here, police brutality!  Off of the Front Page Sections, translated…

A female instructor of African drums, Jeng on the 22nd, on her way to teach a class in Zhongli, Taoyuan, as she was walking and eating her breakfast, she was, halted by the police, demanded for her to show them her national identification card, she’d refused, and was, subdued by the police, cuffed, and charged with obstruction of police affairs, sent to the Taoyuan D.A.’s office.

The head of Offices of Internal Affairs, Hsu told, that the police are working hard, keeping the streets safe, but it’s also important, to keep in mind human rights.  The mayor of Taoyuan, Cheng stated, that he’d made demands to the police office to comply with the district attorney’s investigations to see if abuse of power had happened, that there’s no covering up for the law enforcement officials.

The substation stated, that the female instructor was passing by an area where it’s not safe, while the patrol officers patrolled the locations, they would be on heightened alert, on the day, as the officer stopped the female instructor, told her he worked for the police stations locally, that he hadn’t seen her around the area before, had her tell him her national identification number, the teacher told the officer, that she didn’t do anything wrong, and told the officer, “you are really stupid!”, that was why she was charged with obstructions of public affairs and sent to booking.  As for this case, gaining public’s attention, the offices of internal affairs stated, that they will train the officers to use a less brash way, to help keep the peace.

The female instructor posted the article and the footage “the nine hours I was taken into police custody”, in the article, she’d written, “I was stopped and checked by a man in a police uniform in a street corner with nobody around, had my personal freedom offended, by someone who was supposed to carry out the law”, in the article, other than describing the conversation she had with the officer, being cuffed in the wrist and ankle, led back to the station, because of how her ankles were cuffed up, she’d, walked really slowly, the officers told her, “move along, you look out of sorts, just standing here.”  She’d posted, “I’d lost nine hours of personal freedom, gotten injured physically, lost my dignity, shamed………but what can I do?”, the post got the online community discussing.

The female instructor not only taught African drums, also a worker and performer at a small theatre, a member of the social movement too, somewhat famous in the cultural fields.  As she was interviewed, she was still in shock, but believed, that there are, many others who’d gotten mistreated, abused by police, hoped that she could get the society to pay attention to these matters with her own experiences.

The professionals of the legal realm stated, that from the video recordings of the police, the officer under no “reasonable doubts” checked the woman, and Jeng had the rights to deny being checked; the police can check someone in public, with the prerequisites of “reasonable doubt”, and the footage showed that Jeng was only walking down the streets, that she’d not acted weird, nor carried any dangerous objects, the officer’s telling her, “I hadn’t seen you around here before” and demanded her to be checked, wasn’t, of “just cause”.

In the past, a man, Lee was walking across the Chongyang Bridge, and got pulled by the police, and asked to show his identification, he’d denied them, and started, cussing the officers out, and the officers arrested him on public insult on an officer of the law, sent to the D.A.’s office, afterwards, Lee asked the major court justice to explain the laws to him, the justice later issued the interpretations of Legislation 535, there has to be a justified reason for getting pulled over by the police, and that if one is being pulled by the police, or, something emergent was happening, then, it would not be illegal.

And so, we all need to watch our backs, because, we get pulled over for “driving while black!”, and the police can see you, and just, pull you over, cuff you, with absolutely, NO justifications whatsoever, is what this case showed, and that’s, just wrong.  And, “I hadn’t see you around here before”, still doesn’t qualify as, “just cause” for being stopped by police for a check, because, what IF, it’s the first time I went to this city, to tour, or to visit, or for a business trip?  You had never seen me before because I don’t live here, and you got the reasons, the rights to, cuff me, because I’m simply, walking down these streets?  Yeah, where’s the RIGHTS of the people, huh???
