And this, is how little lives are, worth these, days, no remorse, and only received, SEVEN years? That’s, too light! Off of the Front Page Sections, translated…
Hsu from Taoyuan had multiple priors in drugs, two years ago he was high on ketamine, with a reduced attention span, he’d still, driven his car from home, and, rammed over and killed the elderly woman, Lin who was out on her electric scooter; the Taoyuan District Court considered, that Hsu’s license was revoked due to his “driving under the influence of controlled substances”, that he’d gotten high, and killed Lin, and showed NO remorse, not given a single cent to the families of the victim he’d killed, that he was with malice, and sentenced him to seven years for driving under the influence of drugs, this can still be appealed.
The police found, the 31-year-old man, Hsu in 2011, was sent to rehab because he’d abused drugs, later he’d told that he’d stopped abusing, and was released from the rehab; in 2013, he got to abusing the substances again, and was sentenced to drug charges for four months, six months, and seven months in prison.
On October 23, at around midnight two years ago, after Hsu abused amphetamine at a friend’s, and drove home, at two o’clock in the morning on the 24th, passing through the Huanzhong E. Road in Zhongli, he’d become, unfocused, lacking attention due to the effects of the substances, rammed into the woman, Lin who was riding on her electric motor scooter in high speed; Lin bounced from her scooter, landed on the pavement, after the emergency medical staff members attempted to resuscitate her for nine hours, she’d still died of severe injuries.
The district attorney saw him in a daze, with eyes, bulging out, emotional, took an urine sample, which was positive for drugs; Hsu admitted to abusing amphetamine before he got out on the roads, that he wasn’t paying enough attention, and accidentally, rammed into Lin, the traffic cameras also documented the process of the car crash, the district attorney charged him on vehicular manslaughter by substance abuse.
During the trial, Hsu failed to show up in court, and the police sent out two arrest warrants for his arrest, and he’d, finally come; the courts considered, that with multiple priors in substances, bad behaviors, and that he’d not changed his ways even AFTER his license was revoked because of his drug abuse, that he’d abused ketamine, which caused him to lose his attention, and still got behind the wheels, killed Lin by his vehicle, that his behaviors were, of severe, malice.
And so, this LOSER not only didn’t learn his lessons, of NOT getting behind the wheels high again, he’d gotten behind the wheel, after abusing the drugs, and he deserved the harshest possible punishment that can be given for manslaughter, and yet, he’d only, received, SEVEN years in prison!
