A young life that’s, lost, due to a lacking of consideration for safety, off of the Front Page Sections, translated…

As a local elementary school in Jen-Ai County, Nantou was holding its traditional fishing and hunting classes, two fifth grade boys accidentally fell into the water, one of the boy was rescued up, but the other child, Yu went missing, and as the paramedics finally found him, Yu was already drowned; the local Department of Education stated, that they’d halted this traditional skills course now, and demanded that all the county’s schools check for the safety of the outdoors courses.

This elementary school was an experimental elementary school of the Seediq tribe, the school, in order to keep the traditions of the tribe going, started setting up the hunting, forest/mountain culture courses this year, to help root down the culture in the next generations of children.  Based off of understanding, the school had completed its sessions in the language course curricula, including the languages, the forest cultures, the inheritance of the families’ houses, hunting courses; the language of the tribe started back in the preschool kindergarten years, so the children started in early childhood, can immerse into the culture, the language, to connect with the tribe.

On the first of the month, there were ten fifth grade students, led out by three school instructor, one paramedic, to the creeks for the fishing lessons, back then, the two boys were responsible for collecting the driftwood, to set the fires to cook, but they’d accidentally slipped into a lagoon, as the teachers and coaches found, they’d immediately went to rescue them, one of the boy swam up to the shores on his own, but the boy, Yu went, missing.

Based off of understanding, the lagoon was about fifty meters square in surface area, and the deepest was about two, to three meters, as the divers arrived, they’d started, searching across the entire surface, in the end, the divers found Yu’s body in the middle of the lagoon, where it’s the deepest, then, the divers went in, and carried him out, but, Yu had been in the water for almost thirty-minutes, and showed, no signs of life, he was rushed to the hospital, and declared dead there.

As the drowning occurred, the Department of Education demanded that all the field trips, all the classes held outside the classroom settings need to have a proper and complete set of safety measures, that the checks of the environment where the courses are being held, the professionals standing by, in case of future accidents.

And, this, is still, hindsight, until someone DROWNS, the system will be, lacking, and now this young boy had, lost his life, in order, to get the system more complete, and this is still, neglect, because the adults from the schools should’ve checked the areas first, to see if it is, safe enough, for the children to go, but they hadn’t, and this was why this fifth-grade boy died.
