The Tiny Giant at the Height of Only 1’22 Excelled in the Drums in the National Competitions

A “little person” with, dreams too big to be, contained, by his, tiny frame here!  Such an inspiration, this young lad is!  Off of the Newspapers, translated…

The second-year middle school student, Wu had been diagnosed with achondroplasia since birth, commonly known as dwarfism, only 1’22 in height, he is optimistic in nature, not only did he win first place as a drummer in the National Talent competition for the handicapped, he’d sung and danced, performed in front of his whole school at the summer camps, and the teachers as well as his fellow classmates were all moved by his spirits, they’d nicknamed him, “Little Giant”.

Wu’s mother passed when he was in the sixth grade, he now lives with his maternal grandmother, uncle, and aunt.  His height had caused him to not do well in the physical activities as well as kids his age “others may take only one steps to run, I needed to take three”, but he is still, more than willing to test his limits, he’d even gotten into rock climbing.

He’d loved music very much, and became into he drums, but the drumsticks, are hard to control for him, with the shortened limbs but, “as the drumsticks fell out of his hands, he’d picked them back up, over, over, over and over again” until he’d, perfected his, drumming skills.  Last November, he’d gotten involved in the National Talent Competition for the Handicapped with his classmates, and got a first-place trophy for the groups using his drumming skills.

Wu told, that since he was young, he’d trained himself, to face the obstacles in his own life bravely, to overcome the hardships in his own life.  On the tenth, his school had a campout, he was the first to sign up, and, in the three-day two nights activities, he’d shown perfect group skills, and on the dances at the bonfires, the dance moves proved to be difficult for him, but he’d, not given up.  The principal, Huang gave him the “All-Around Hero” award to him, scholarship money too, to encourage him to work hard, in building up the dreams he may have for his own, future.

And so, size still didn’t matter, it’s the STRONG will, the HEART, the HARD work that matters, like this young man, who’s, born with the handicaps, but he’d not allowed his physical handicap to define him, to BLOCK him from his goals and dreams, and he’d, worked, really hard, to overcome the obstacles, and it’s this never-giving up, bouncing back up when beaten down that we can all, take from.
