An unemployed man, Lai awhile ago gone to burglarize a local resident in Chih-Du District in Keelung, as he was rummaging for the valuables, the eighty-four-year-old elderly homeowner, Tsai walked in on him, in order to get away from getting caught, Tsai picked up the brick that was lying around, and, SMASHED the elderly woman’s head, then escaped, the elderly woman started bleeding from her head and fell to the ground, thankfully, the son of the elderly woman came home, and rushed her to the E.R., her life was, saved.  The D.A. criticized of the methods that Lai used, that it was cruel, and, had the perpetrator in custody on counts of attempted murder.

The elderly woman, Tsai on the afternoon of the 25th around three came home, she saw a stranger, rummaging through the closets, Lai (age 26) picked up a brick, and started smashing the elderly woman’s head many times, the elderly passed out, and she bled, as her son came home from work, found his mother bleeding nonstop, reported to the police; the neighbors stated, “The man was, truly, horrible!”

The police pointed out, the elderly woman bled unstopped, they couldn’t stop the bleeding, and the living room floor had the Kleenex which her son used to wipe down the blood, as the police and paramedics arrived, they’d stopped the elderly woman from bleeding first, then, as they’d rushed her to the hospital, she was in critical condition at once, and, she’s out of danger after they’d, performed the emergency resuscitation measures on her, but she’s still, drifting in and out of consciousness, so she couldn’t tell the police exactly what happened to her, and the physicians diagnosed her with severe concussion and fractures.

The police checked, and found that there weren’t anything that’s too valuable that got taken from the elderly woman’s place, and as they reviewed over the surveillance, they’d found that Lai who hangs around her property is highly, probable as a suspect, after Lai tried to unsuccessfully burglar the place, he’d left the clothes he was wearing on the roofs of an old building close by, there was also, Lai’s stamp inside the pocket of the clothes he’d left behind, and the police compared the surveillance footages, and confirmed that he was, involved.

The police stated, that Lai was cruel in his measure, disregarded how the woman was elderly, and, physically assaulted her head with a brick, on the evening of the 25th, they’d made an arrest on Zhongzhen Road, Keelung.  Lai admitted how he was caught burglarizing, that in order to get away from the scene, that was why he’d used, such hard and cruel methods to beaten the elderly woman, he was sent to the Keelung D.A.’s office after the police questioned him.

Lai hung around regularly at the local temples, parks, the bus stations, as well as the older apartments, the police asked the people around the temples, and they’d told the officers, that Lai would sleep there, and they couldn’t, chase him away, that he is young, but without a steady job, lived like a homeless man.

And so, this elderly woman walked in on the burglar, and got her head smashed, and the burglar reacted the only way he knew how, because he didn’t want to get caught burglarizing her home, and now, he got that added on, attempted MURDER charge to his crimes!
