A spot in the house, where you can, meditate, and feel calm, when you feel the messiness of the outside world is about to, attack you, translated…
It was nothing romantic, that this stool came to “stay” in my kitchen.
Because of my scoliosis, every time I’d finished making the foods, staring at the sink’s worth of dirty dishes, cookware, it’d become, a three-times-a-day trial. One day, a thought flashed across my mind: if I can’t stand too long, why not, put a stool here, then, problem solved?
Although, it’d seemed, that nobody will sit and do their dishes, but I have this need, while the regular chairs won’t be fitted next to my kitchen counter, and so, I’d gone online, ordered a black stool that’s simplistic in style.
something like, this???
During that time, I’d waited expectedly, for the stool to arrive. As it got here, the height was, perfect, even the style, it’d, matched up to my kitchen’s style, and, it’d made my kitchen, more romantic. For the days that followed, sorting through the businesses in my kitchen no longer annoyed me, instead, I’d felt more at ease, more leisurely, to make the items that took a lot of time: marmalade, cake, sugar stir-fried ginger slices, these snacks that takes a lot of time, I’d, made and put on the tables. Because of how comfortable it felt, this making the foods became a sort of a ritual to me, and, as I’d, chopped the food items up, my unsettled heart felt more peaceful in the process. Later my kids started eating the snacks, and chit-chatted with my on the stool, even that orange cat, stayed on the stool, to watch me sort through the matters.
A chair is a space, I’d turned on the lamp after breakfast, and in the afternoon, played the music, then, with the aroma of coffee, with a favorite book, it was, as if, I’m, in a café then, I got, a ton of, added fun to my ordinary life. Think on it closely, isn’t life like so? There are those things that would, bother us, but, if we switched a perspective, do things in different ways, it can, yield the unexpected results!
And so, this is how you found peace, in that special corner, that stool at your home, that you bought, for your kitchen, because it’s a place you can be in to be alone, it’s a sort of a meditation spot for you, keeps everything around you outside, and you can, tune in, to your self, when you sit on it.
