From the encounters of life, by a long-term educator, on charity during the most-needed time of year to show it, off of the Front Page Sections, translated…
A child came to me, talked about how she and a friend went to a restaurant to dine, that she was moved, by the owner’s wife’s compassion.
The orders from a table of guests were messed up, as the waiter was, called over, he was nervous, and scared, he couldn’t stop, rubbing his hands; the female owner of the restaurant heard the raucous, came over, apologized to the customers in her light voice, had the waiter change the orders, and brought the right orders back, she’d, stated in a lowered voice, about their server’s situation, and told them, that “this child needs the encouragement, to build up his self-confidence, can you please, tell him, thank-you as he comes over? Your words are going to, keep him happy in learning the skills of working as a server the whole day.”, as the customer understood, he’d, commended the female owner of the restaurant for being, so considerate of her workers, and so thoughtful too.
“Principal Mommy, we too, will donate money, and volunteer from time to time, but, we’d, often failed to realize, that there are those who are in need of assistance from all around us, like how the female owner of the restaurant showed, care and concerns toward those around her, and that, is the, most, practical, sort of help.” I’d agreed with the child’s views, “it isn’t easy, hiring someone who’s a special needs, the female owner’s asking the customers to give the worker a chance, her way of asking them to give the worker extra time, surely, is, wonderful!”

Awhile ago, I got into contact with a middle school head counselor in Tainan, she’d mentioned that one of the students I used to care for, said in a heartfelt manner, “the student’s father is serving time, he and his grandmother were all each other had, but in his second year of high school, his grandmother passed, and he can only, transfer to the night school division, work during the daytime, to pay for his tuition at night. As I’d heard, I’d inquired, from worry, “How did he make it?” the head counselor told me, that thankfully, the school teacher had lent a helping hand, told the student, “you’re welcome at ‘home’ at anytime, school IS your home, and we are, your, families!” Because of this teacher’s show of concerns, the student made it past his high school years. Considering his own future, he’d, selected, the military prep schools to attend in the end.
I’d commended the school teacher’s heart; the head of the counselor’s office told, “we live closest, we don’t help him, and yet, we expect, that someone, from far, far, far away to, it wouldn’t be right, because the money can’t come quickly enough, and it wouldn’t be good on our own, conscience.” Thinking on my past of working in the distant-region schools, a student told me of his family situations, and although I’d, helped him out, but knowing, that if the help was to last long-term, I would need to get his neighbors to work hand-in-hand, so I’d, paid a visit to the man in charge of his local borough, and the local volunteers, chipped in, looked in on him every now and then, and the child successfully, graduated.
versus this…

At the end of the year, a ton of charitable foundations are raising the funds, to help out; and, can we be a bit, nosier, and start, helping those who are in need, in our, closest, vicinity? Especially during the outbreaks, we’d become, distanced from one another, but I truly hope, that the compassions that we all are capable of showing, can help someone else, keep the light on.
And so, this, is from the encounters, of this educator, showing, that a lot of the members of our world are in need of assistance, and, everybody is doing her/his hardest, to keep their lives going, and sometimes, that extra help from the world around, can be that light that someone needs, to help the people, get through the tougher parts of life.
