Being hearing impaired, in a strange town, and the experience of life you’d, encountered, that’s, touched your life, translated…
Because of Him, I’d Not Only Experienced the Gourmet Dining, My Heart Also, Warmed up Too……………
One day when I was in Hawaii, I’d wanted to experience something elegant, so I’d, gone to, a restaurant with a whole lot of that.
The restaurant was located at a quiet, open place, with the sunlight, shining in, this was a great atmosphere, and it’d, given me the illusions of “reason why I’m alive, is because I want to be here!”
With the waiter smiling that kind smile toward me, I was, led to, a quite perfect location in seating. Then, I’d, opened up the menu. Errrr…shouldn’t the steaks be something that’s, cooked, quite easily? The degree to how well-done it is is considered, with what sort of a red wine too………….
I’d decided, to tell him my situation.
“Hi, I’m sorry, I’m, hearing impaired!”
As I’d simply stated this, he’d nodded like he’d, understood me, then, extended his hand toward me.
Wow, he wants to, shake my hands then?
Then, I’d, shaken his hand, for no reasons at all, felt a bit, confused, but it wasn’t, annoying, it was if he was saying, “how can I be of service to you today?”
Thankful for the waiter’s mannerisms, I was able to order successfully I’d carried that expectant heart, waiting to be served, and, started, my meal gladly.

And, as I’d started, looking around, I would always, make eye contact with the waiter who just took my order. It’s as if, he was, watching me closely, focused on, watching, over me. I’m quite grateful for his attention, and, it’d made it easy for me, when I’d needed someone to call on, because he was, always, watching me, and I’d only had to, look at him too, then, he’d, given me, that warmth, of a smile. Because of him, I’d not only, had an amazing meal, my heart felt, warmed up too.
I’d, finished that amazing meal, took a walk down the streets, in the comfortable weather, enjoying, that light, breeze. Then suddenly, there was an elderly woman who struck up a conversation with me. And this time, I couldn’t understand her either, immediately told the elderly, that I’m, hearing impaired. She’d immediately taken out her cell phone, and, started typing, “there’s a parade here in about half an hour. Do remember, to stand by and watch it!”
And so, I was able to, see the parade, that wasn’t, planned at all.
Even though I can’t hear, but, from looking, I can, feel the beats of the music. The colorful floats, the marchers, it’d, enriched the experience, while the energetic dances, also, made me, energized too. Everybody stopped coming and going, and, enjoyed that moment. I’d also, shaken, so many, hands then, it was quite a wonderful period of time I had.
Because I hated being alone, I’d, escaped to Hawaii, and, I’d not expected how much love flowed, how much kindness, are in the locals there. Hawaii, thank you!
And so, this, is being shown kindness, by strangers you never met before, and you probably, will never get to see again. The random encounters, the kindness of strangers, they’d, touched you, and you’re, grateful, for this experience on your travel.
