Nominated as the International Inventor, the Distant Region School Teacher Taught the Students to “Play with” Science

Breaking FREE of the traditional frameworks of education, coming up with innovative methods to educate, off of the Front Page Sections, translated…

The instructor, Lo taught at the school for eleven years, she’d led her students to enter into the science fairs, the international invention fairs, and received a ton of awards, she took received multiple national and international accolades for her teaching style and the patents, last year, she’d received the Teacher of the Year Award.  Her bright and shiny path to teaching seemed all glorious, but, back when she took the teaching certification exams, she was turned down by fifty schools, and she’d used the defeats as the nutrients that motivated her, broke the traditional frameworks of education, innovated the teaching methods, hoping, to turn the education in the distant-regions, around.

Since she was growing up, Lo heard of her mother telling stories of her grandfather who was a teacher, helping children who grew up in poverty-stricken backgrounds, and felt, that “being a teacher is something sacred”, and that became her goal.  Plus her mother took her out camping once every month, which fed to her love of biology.

She Was Cast Out by Close to Fifty Schools for Her Teacher’s Certifications

It’s just, that she’d not had a smooth ride on becoming a school teacher.  She’d pointed out, that back then, the entrance exams are based off of how much knowledge one can CRAM into the brains, and, it was too stressful for her to follow the academic track, she’d not wanted to go to the regular high school, and, to escape, she’d, pursued a seafood production technical high school degree, then, started in the community college level, and the grad school programs, and, finally, she’d, fulfilled all the course requirements for her to become a teacher, and, gotten certified, she’d gone the long way, still to, fulfill her dreams of becoming a school teacher.

But, because she wasn’t a regular high school student, and not from the teacher’s college, she’d taken the teaching exam certifications four times, and, even as she passed, she couldn’t get a teaching job, nearly fifty schools rejected her application to teach.  She’d felt defeated, but didn’t, give up, through the surrogate teaching programs, gained the real-life experience in the classrooms, in the end, she’d scored the highest score at the collective national teacher’s exam, become a formal school instructor, and went to the Jinan University’s subsidiary high school to start teaching.

“Distant region is so different from the cities in education.”  She’d told, as she’d entered to teach, she’d found the differences of level in the education in the cities versus the rural regions, and, the school’s methods of education, so locked in, it was, EXACTLY as the cramming methods of learning she’d hated when she’d gone to school, and it was quite contrast to the surrogate teaching experiences she had at Kaohsiung All-Girl’s High School, and that was when she’d decided, to duplicate the creative methods in teaching, and the experimental methods of education, into the Jinan University High School division.

The Science Fairs, the Invention Fairs, Received More than 200 Awards

Lo not only managed to teach the students the subject in terms that they could understand, she’d also, led her students to enter into the science fairs, the invention fairs too, and her students won over two hundred awards big and small; and she’d even innovatively, set up the teaching teams, and incorporated the subjects of food safety and farmers, to develop the “Local Science Board Games”, through the games to teach the subject of science to her students, the students gained the knowledge they needed to pass the exams, and, they were educated on the industries related too.

Lo pointed out, the more she’d worked in Nantou, she’d noted how the distant-regions lacked the needed resources, that there’s a necessity for the resources to be added in.  Most of the students can learn, it’s just whether or not they find the motivations to.  She said, “the guidance of the classrooms, is to help the students spark the motivations to learn on their own, the teachers played a key role, that I will, keep on, discovering the ways to inspire my students to find learning fun, to become a teacher that my students needed.”

And so, this is a woman, who stood back UP at the faces of defeat, and, it didn’t matter how many times she’d failed in her teaching certification exams, she’d passed the exams, and, she’d turned the methods of education around for her students, NOT using the exact same way she hated when she was going through school, of cramming, and, force-feeding the course into the students’ minds, instead, she’d, led them on a discovery journey, instilled that love of learning, which is the KEY to being successful, in the learning process!
