How easy it is, to ABUSE the power of your position, off of the Front Page Sections, translated…

The officer, Hsu of Linyuan Police Substation of Kaohsiung, pulled a man, Hong over on drunk-driving, ticketed him, but didn’t confiscate his car like he was supposed to, he’d allowed Hong to ride off on his scooter, and four days later, as Hong paid the fines, he’d gone to the substation to claim the security deposit, the manager of the substation found that it was odd, and found that Hsu had taken the bribes in the amount of $20,000N.T., and he was sent to the Kaohsiung D.A.’s office on taking bribes.

Based off of understanding, the officer, Hsu is close to fifty years old, six months ago, he’d transferred to the Gangpu Substation from Linyuan Substation, on New Year’s Eve, Hong rode his scooter to the Gangpu Substation, to get the court papers he left there, as Hsu saw Hong wreaked of alcohol, he’d performed the breathalyzer test on him, and although, he was under the public endangerment limits, Hsu still ticketed Hong.

Because of the traffic laws and road safety, as the breathalyzer test showed over 0.15 or over, the vehicles are confiscated, and the vehicle would not be returned until the fines are, paid up.  Hong claimed to the officer, that he needed his scooter for work, that he could pay for the security deposits, and promised that he will pay the fine, soon as he could, then, he’ll come back to the station, to claim his scooter.

Based off of understanding, Hsu used the label of “insured amount” to get paid $20,000N.T. by Hong, and Hong left on his scooter; until January fourth, as Hong came to the station with the receipts that he’d paid for the fines already to claim the security deposits back, but Hsu was out on call, and the manager of the office realized, that the procedures were, flawed, immediately reported the matter to the substations, and Hsu immediately, returned the $20,000N.T.s back to Hong.

In the investigations, Hsu claimed that it was Hong who’d insisted on paying the $20,000N.T. as an insurance, that he’d not intended to take bribes, but the police still charged him with encroachment, and sent him to the D.A.’s office.

And so, this is still, an ABUSE of power, you took advantage of the situation, your position as a police officer, and, received payments, and now you got caught, you claimed, that that wasn’t your intention?  Yeah, tell THAT to the judge, see if he’ll, believe you!

This still just showed, how easily people can get, tempted, by money, even those in law-enforcement too…
