The police officers here, are, “moonlighting” as DRUG traffickers, believe it or don’t, off of the Front Page Sections, translated…
The former director of the police substation in Lanyu, Lee had been bribed $200,000N.T., to help the trafficking fishing boats to traffic the illegal substances, after the coastguards caught the ship, the police confiscated more than 800 kilograms of amphetamine, Lee tried to escape out of country, but failed, the first trial sentenced him for trafficking a level three drug to six years six months, the second trial changed the sentence to seven years six months, the highest courts tossed back the appeals, and had notified the police to prevent him from escaping out of the country. Lee had been fired from his post after the trafficking case was out.
Being pressed by debts, Lee started having the idea of trafficking small amounts of drugs to get the cash with the captain of the fishing boat, Cheng, they’d used the ships fishing at sea, to help transport the drugs to Lanyu, then, sold them off within the country.
In May of 2019, Lee received the prepayment of $200,000N.T., and as the captain, Cheng was trafficking the substance, his ship was stopped by the coastguards, and, the coastguards found forty-two bags worth of drugs, weighing in at over eight hundred kilograms, as Lee and the rest saw, they tried to run away, failed in their attempts to escape to sea; after confirming, it was, amphetamine that was, trafficked.
The first trial in the Taidong District Court sentenced Lee to six years six months, the D.A. thought the sentence wasn’t severe enough, filed for an appeal, the Hualien District Court on the second trial believed, that Lee, being a law enforcement official, got into the business of trafficking drugs because he’d lost money in his investments, that he’d transported the huge sum amounts, that it would harm the citizens here physically, and caused a ton of families to get impacted, leading to more acts of violence, that he was malicious. Considering how he’d turned over the $200,000N.T. he’d made illegally, he was given the sentence of seven years six months; the Highest Courts tossed back the appeals, and the case is settled.
Once again you’re still, tempted by the quick way to make more cash, that’s why you’d, gone to the WRONG side of the law, and the courts should’ve, punished you even MORE severely, you, being an officer of the law, because that would set a very AWFUL example for the society, and yet, you still just, got that, SLAP on the wrist, because the courts took into consideration how you’d, turned OVER the money you’d made, and that’s still, too light for your crimes, or at least, that, is what I believe!
