A good program, to help these “convicted scam artists” reform themselves, putting their skillsets to good use, for the children in need, from the Newspapers, translated…
The Kaohsiung D.A.’s Offices busted an embezzlement case of a government operated business, because the stand-in exam takers were all educated, grad students, intern physicians, middle school instructors, high-tech workers, the district attorneys decided to give them all probation, to give them all a chance to change, the deal was that they all need to voluntarily offer the classes to help the children who can’t afford the cram school sessions. These “cheating teachers” at first, started, armoring themselves up, but, only after a few short days, they all were, melted by the kindness, the naïve of these, “little devils”, and started building up a stable interaction with them as teachers and students.
The D.A. of the southern region, Fang pointed out, the average age of these ten stand-in exam-takers has the average age of twenty-six, as they were brought in, every one of them cried like hell, finally realized what they’d done was, quite serious, worried that it might leave that mark in their schooling careers, and their future careers, and worried that they’d left that dark mark on their own lives too, they were all, remorseful, the D.A. considered how they all have their brighter futures ahead, that they let money go to their heads, and done the wrong things, and demanded they give back the money they’d earned illegally, and served the voluntary community service hours of anywhere between forty to one-hundred twenty hours, and they would receive probation.
The police agencies worked with the southern Kaohsiung Fund for Children & Families, in the “famous teachers of the law departments”, and set up the math, English, science, along with other subjects camps, and allowed these plaintiffs to work as school instructors, helping the fourth graders to first year middle school students with their school work and homework assignments, and although the D.A.’s offices worried that these children may feel awful having these criminals to teach them, they’d not told these children their teachers’ criminal backgrounds, but the instructors, they’d, armored themselves up, because of the crimes they’d committed, felt ill-at-ease, and after a few days of working with these children, they were, melted by the innocence of the young children, and, started interacting with the students they were tutoring more naturally.
The head counselor of the southern Kaohsiung Fund for Families & Children, Chen told, that the children called the teachers “big brothers” and “big sisters”, there was a teacher in the high-tech industry who’d used an iPad to teach the students, the kids were really excited, but, the class got a little out of control, and the officials immediately reminded the instructors, to adjust the methods they used to teach, added in more discussions, interactions, that the high-tech devices should only be used as help. There were the instructors who went into depth in explaining the physics laws, the kids couldn’t understand it, after adjustment, they were able to change their ways of lecturing, to something that the kids find easier to understand and fun too, with the hands-on experiments, the classes started, flowing quite well then.
Chen said, all of these instructors who were on probationary terms worked with the children in the foundation for two weeks, but they were affected by one another, there were the instructors who’d bought the bubble teas to treat the students out of their own pockets, and there were the instructors who put in the money, and bought the set of books, and materials that are used to teach the children in the program too. They did not want to part with each other on the eve of the ending of these sessions, and this showed, that using a life, to influence another life, it’s something tiny, but exerted, a huge outcome.
Fang told, that these defendants are going about their days normally, with their work, their education, the probationary term isn’t aimed at punishing them, but to help them reform, what made the programs most meaningful is seeing how these defendants are really, turning over a new leaf in their lives. While most of the defendants hadn’t fulfilled all of their hours of volunteer service, the Taiwan Fund for Children & Family will be hosting another winter camp session, to have the defendants contribute their own separate, areas of, expertise, to help the children get all the knowledge they needed to succeed in school.
And so, this, is WAY, WAY, WAY better than giving the criminals a huge fine, or placing them in prison, the justice department found a use for these defendants’ skillsets, and put them to work, and, in working with these children from lesser backgrounds, the children aren’t the only ones who’d benefitted, these “convicted felons” also, benefitted from the interactions, which will help them steer their own lives in the right directions, less chances of them, going back to their old ways of scamming again.
