The seeds you’d sown yesterday, may grow into something wonderful in the near or far future, that you don’t even realize it yet, translated…
Over two decades ago, I was, a fresh hand in a trading company, I’d gotten involved in a stocks trading group. Mr. Chen, a member of the group, he’d taught us the tricks of the trade by the week. He’s not into the myths, but did enormous research over how those who’d made it rich playing the stock markets were able to, accumulated the years of experiences in trading, then, passed the knowledge, to us, a group of, students, who are, still, just, getting, our hands and feet, wet.
One day I’d bumped into Mr. Chen on the streets, I’d learned that he’d comparison shopped for a pack of printing papers. He’d told me, “from before, the packs are $130 N.T. each, I’d needed more, and come out to shop, and, this shop cost $150N.T.s a pack, and, although, the cost is split evenly among everybody, but, to help everybody save some money, I’d still, needed to, nickel and dime a bit!”
Mr. Chen didn’t charge us, and used his pure passion to teach us about investments, and, gave all of his experiences so selflessly, and, I can’t believe, that he’d, kept a close watch over tiny details as this. And so, I’d, told him, “my company only sells the copy machine papers for $120 a pack, I shall get it for the class then!” Actually, I’d, paid the ten dollars extra out of my own pockets, but not minded it one bit, and I’d, helped everybody like this for six months more.
One day, Mr. Chen came to my stock trading firm to open an account, and, then, some of the students came to open up their stocks trading accounts too; turned out, someone told Mr. Chen, of how I’d, paid the extra ten dollars of copy papers to Mr. Chen.
“We were originally, a bit guarded against you, you being, a stockbroker and all, thought that you were into developing clients. But, we’d, observed you long term, you were, the most focus in class, not sold anything to us, and you’d even, put up the money, to help with the copies, we felt, that you are, someone, trustworthy, and we’d all, decided, to become, your, clients!”
Ten bucks help kick started my career, every time I was reminded of this, I was, more than grateful, for how down-to-earth that younger version of me had been.
And so, this still just showed, that you don’t know the effects of a simple act of kindness, that it may get, returned back to you, tenfold in the futures unknown, like in this particular case, so, we should all, make the connections with others around us, keep on being on good terms with each other, best as we can.
