And unfortunately, this, is what, DEMOCRACY got us, as the majority voted for this current president of ours! On the imports of American pork with the ractopamine, which can cause long-term health problems to those who ingested it, commentary off of the Front Page Sections, translated…
At the end of August, the President, Tsai promised to sign an executive order to allow the pork with ractopamine into the country from overseas, this upset the citizens here. The party not in power also called out to the government to slam on the brakes on this, but the Tsai government chose to ignore, made up its mind, to allow the pork with the substance in, it’d turned the “Autumn Fight” of the twenty-second into a platform for the advocates against the imports. Hoping that the government can see the upset of the crowds here, and pull the plug in time, to retract the order of importing of the meats, and hope, that the American government officials in Taiwan can SEE the angers of the people of Taiwan, to NOT keep selling the pork with ractopamine to us anymore.
Actually, there’s, this growing demand for pork in Taiwan, and the Taiwanese aren’t against the imports of American pork, we’re not discriminatory toward American pork, the people of Taiwan only want the imported pork from U.S. to not contain ractopamine is all.
As I went to the supermarkets, and saw the American beef labeled as imported from U.S., it’d not clarified if it’d contained the ractopamine, nor did the label have a warning about dangers of consuming too much, but the warnings of amount of intake is on the labels. From the amounts of American beef imported to Taiwan being limited, the FDA here couldn’t even clearly label if the meats had the ractopamine, for the large amounts of imported pork, I’m afraid, that the government won’t even try to put the labels on. And, the citizens may not be able to tell if the pork are imported from the U.S., and taken in excess of ractopamine, which causes health risks, and so, in the fact that the government couldn’t label the meats clearly enough, I beg the president, Tsai, to retract her executive order to allow the imports.
Actually, the American pig farmers, due to the requirements of China’s demanding it, had stopped using the feeds without the ractopamine in it, and this is why the percentage of the American imported pork with ractopamine being lowered to twenty-two-percent, and I believe, that the meat plants in the U.S., in order to sell the pork globally, will eventually eliminate the ractopamine in the feeds completely, and if the Tsai government, to suck up to the American government, insisted on allowing the import of American pork, then, the twenty-two-percent of pork raised by the farms using ractopamine feeds will certainly, get imported to Taiwan primarily. The way the country manage the matter, it’d not allowed the people here to determine if the pork contained the ractopamine or not, I truly hope, that the government can hear our calls of anger, and retract the orders for allowing the imports, to NOT poison the people of Taiwan, and hurt the generations of Taiwanese citizens to come.
And so, this still goes to show, how Taiwan is, U.S.’s BITCH, the country, in order to SUCK up to the U.S., are allowing the imports of these, meats with poisons, and, even though the government had, “promised” to label the meats clearly, but heck, given this government’s track records, who’s gonna believe it? And, we end up, getting, poisoned by the ractopamine bit by bit, because pork is one of the primary meat sources for people here, and, the cost of these American imported meats would be, a hell of a lot cheaper than the pork raised and slaughtered here in Taiwan, and so, this is, not good at all!
