The case of a female daycare worker harassing young children came out. The councilwoman, Hsu on the conferences, questioned, that a not-for-profit preschool’s female educator suspected of using measures of tongue-kissing, pinching the buttocks, to discipline two young boys and a young girl, the families who called her said this was sexual harassment, but as they went to confront the daycare worker, she said “this was how we do it in the south”. Hsu was also displeased at how the Department of Education had delayed reporting this, the Department of Education stated that the investigative reports will be reviewed by the Department of Social Services to see if laws had been broken.
The city councilwoman, Hsu pointed out, that on October 5th, children had told their parents that their teacher mistreated them, the parents went to the preschool to check it out, and, in reviewing over the surveillance, found that the preschool caretaker had, forcibly kissed the children on the mouth, and pinched the buttocks of children who climbed on the chairs, and after contacting other parents, there were, two boys, and a girl who were, treated like so by the same nursery care worker.
Hsu pointed out, that after the holidays, the worker should excuse herself from her position of work, but the preschool didn’t notify the Department of Education until October 14th, and the parents of the victims reported to the police, and it wasn’t until the 29th, did the Department of Education start an investigation on the matter, and clearly, there are, flaws in how the city handled the matters.
Toward this, the head of the Department of Education, Tseng pointed out, there’s a 24-hour reporting time period for cases of sexual harassment, but the caretaker explained that it was a misunderstanding, that maybe, this was, negligence, and will go after who is responsible, and use the case to evaluation the preschool.
And so, this is NOT just the problem with the system here, it’s the whole thing that’s, set up wrong, for starters, they’d, allowed this, predatory instructor into a class of young children, secondly, the Department of Education didn’t look into the matter closely enough, the school didn’t report the matter as emergent either, and this, is a huge problem here.
