How this man turned his own life around, from the Newspapers, translated…

The pottery artist, hidden in the mountains of Kaohsiung’s Dashe Mountains, was once a member of the mob, was imprisoned repeatedly, in prison, he’d encountered pottery, and found an interest in it, and after his release, he’d worked hard, creating the pieces, his pieces were all very unique, he’d gained fame in China, as well as in Australia too.  He knew the trials of his own life from his former days, and, by chance, he was involved in the Kaohsiung Police Department’s youth outreach program, to teach the younger generation pottery, used his own life experiences, to light that path for the younger generations of children.

As Chen was released from prison at age fifty, he’d started heading into the field of pottery, in a short fifteen years, his pieces began from being sold off at the floral markets to now, inside the malls, and it’d drawn buyers to go to his studio up in the mountains.  Every piece he’d made was different, plus, the patterns from the bake, all unique, and, the CEO of a screw factory even spent over millions of dollar to buy his work.

Chen’s life was like a movie.  His hometown is in Hsinchu, his father a physician, his mother, Japanese, the parents were tough on him, he’d gotten beaten up for every point below a hundred on his exams.  During his childhood years, he was bullied a lot by his peers, one day he had had it, stowed away a screwdriver, and, stabbed a taller classmate who’d bullied him, ever since, nobody mistreated him again; he had that strong sense of justice, when someone picked on someone lesser, he’d, stepped up, and show the bully off, that was why he kept getting transferred out of the schools he’d attended, later he tested into the Teacher’s College in Hsinchu, but was kicked out of school because something happened.

As he enlisted, he was sent to Mazu, but because he was mad at how an assistant platoon leader said he was going to try him, as the heads of the armed services came to watch the drills, he’d stabbed the platoon leader, got into trouble.

As he was discharged, he’d started a suitcase factory, with over a hundred employees, three years later, he was cheated by the businesses, and forced to close down shop; he’d opened up a tea shop, then a gambling fishing pond, made a ton of money, and gained a ton of followers, at age twenty-nine, he was listed as a person of interest, and went to prison.  As he got out, he’d started working in the illegal business, got sent back to the cage once more, he’d sighed, that he “had nothing to show for the first half of his life”.  At age forty, he was sent to prison again, and thought that he can’t, just keep on, living like this, in prison, he’d applied to the architecture and ads design classes, made perfect scores on the exams, and gotten certified; accidentally, he’d found himself in pottery. He’s now living in Kaohsiung, and, made a sky for himself to soar underneath in the areas of pottery made by the firewood.

And so, it took this man, a long time, to finally turn his own life around, and as he’d started setting his own life straight, everything fall into its, rightful places, and now, he’s, doing what he loves, not getting into trouble with the law again, because he’d, learned the hard ways already.
