This is the second year since the implementing of the new education reform policies, and the debates on the high school learning process files became more and more rash. Legislator pointed out, that the learning profiles are tied in to college entrances, and the high school instructors of all subjects started, assigning too much assignments for the students to do, there may be five, six projects or papers per class, and, there were students who are made to turn in a total of forty papers or projects in just one semester, the stresses is crushing them.
The head of the Department of Education, Pan told the legislation and the cultural committee that this is the schools’ misunderstanding of what the “learning profiles” are for, that the Department of National Education shall step in, to show the right ways of approach, that in two more months, the Department of Education will post its reports on the matters.

The legislator, Lin pointed out, that a ton of high school students and teachers are pained by the “learning process profiles”, and there were the students who started up the petition to trash the High School Learning Profiles, and, within ten days, over eight thousand students signed the petitions, it’d shown how the high school instructors, as well as students were being crushed because of the newly implemented education policies. The purpose of the Department of Education’s pushing for the learning process profiles is to not make college entrance into a competition, and yet, every semester, the students are all on high guards, ready for war, to the point that it’d made everybody in school angry.
Lin also disclosed, that there were the local governments that were compelled to keep the quotas of the uploading of the students’ learning process profiles, “if the schools didn’t meet a certain number, the schools will be evaluated.”
Pan pointed out, that if the schools made the excessive demands for progress, causing students too much pressure, then this would be against the purpose of the system of the learning profiles. The Department of National General Education will communicate with the schools and the local governments on the matter, and hold discussion forums with the students as well as their parents on the matter, hoping, that the learning profiles are merely a presentation of what the students had learned during the semesters, that it’s not created intentionally.
The uploading of the learning profiles to the systems, the Department of National Education stressed is voluntary, and they don’t make demands of students to send in multiple projects or presentations. But, the Department of Education can help make sure that the students who’d uploaded their learning profiles to the database which will help show an individual’s learning processes, the progresses s/he made in learning, the potentials in growing, the fields of interests, as well as the attitude one takes to learning.
And so, it’s either, a misinterpretation on the various schools’ parts, that this learning profile is done this way, or, that the Department of Education hadn’t thought things through thoroughly, and now, as the teachers, the students, and some of the parents objected, the government is thinking about, slashing away this policy that took a ton of taxpayers’ money, time and energies, to pass into law, wow, is this government stupid, or is this government, S-T-U-P-I-D here???
