There are the varied techniques of the various counties, cities on handling of old toys, the city of Hsinbei and the Toy Library Association set up the toy banks, not only does it recycle preowned toys, after sorting, classifications, repairing, putting them back on display, and allowing children to play with them again, helping to bring that second life to old toys; there were the locally operated toy repair shops, that gave new life to the old toys.
the man, working his, “magic” on the toys…
There’s the toy workshop at the Xintai Elementary School in Sinchaung, with the stationed “toy doctor”, Yang who’s seventy-six years-old, he was called by the community fourteen years ago, started taking up the skills with forty, fifty other people who’d, worked to fix up the old toys.
Tang stated, that a boy came to him with his plastic toy hen, told him, “Grandpa, my hen won’t lay the eggs”. He’d checked the toy, found that a part had gotten lose on the toy internally, causing the hen to not drop the eggs when she wobbled around, in the end, he’d, removed the parts that made the eyes of the hen blink, installed the part onto the hen’s feet, and, gave the toy the ability to lay the eggs as it wobbled around, but the eyes, he can only, draw it in.
Tang said, in over a decade, he’d fixed countless number of toys, and his best payment was how the kids were in smiles after they got back the fixed up toys; but from before, there were more dolls, toy cars, there were, piles of toys he needed to work on daily; and now, the kids are playing with the electronics, there are, less and less toys that came into the repair shop for him to fix now.

He’d found, that some of the toys are only partially broken, that he’d only needed to glue the parts back together, to switch the parts, but they got thrown out by their owners.
So, the purpose of these toy repair shops, is to teach people to reuse, to fix things up, because after some tweaking, some adjusting, the toys are, good as new again, and yet, currently, we all buy a ton of toys, and the kids played with them until they broke, and, we, as adults, threw out the broken toys, and go out, buy more toys for children, creating this, huge junk pile of broken toys, and the ideals of these toy banks are to help us know, that we can, use, reuse, and recycle, to save the resources, our money, reduce pollution, as a lot of those broken toys are made of plastic…
