A single mother, Yang in Kaohsiung was left to raise her two young daughter alone on her own, last year around Christmas, Yang left her five-months-old youngest daughter home alone, took her eldest daughter out for two days, the young infant didn’t have any water, or food, she’d not had any liquid in her system for close to forty-eight hours, she’d died of dehydration, and malnutrition, the Chiaotou District Attorney’s Office yesterday indicted Yang, and asked the courts to punish her severely, for neglecting her own youngest daughter causing her to die.
Based off of understanding, Yang (age 21) works in the shady jobs, raising two daughters, one was nine years old, the younger was only five-months old, the youngest had a congenital heart condition, and needed her medication on the clock, and needed to be fed her meals and meds at set times, the three lived in a rental stay in Zuoying.
On the afternoon of Christmas Day last year, Yang took only her eldest daughter out, and didn’t come home for two days, and during these forty-eight hours, no liquid was available to her youngest daughter, no milk provided for her, she wasn’t administered her heart medications either.
Waiting until Yang finally arrived home, the infant already lost signs of life, and although she’d rushed her daughter to the E.R., the infant suffered rhabdomyolysis and renal failure and she died.
During the D.A.s questioning the mother, Yang claimed that she was rushing off to work on the day, that was why she took her eldest with her, and she’d remembered how her youngest needed to be fed, and administered her medications, and texted her relatives to help care for her, but the relatives said that they couldn’t go, and that was why she’d left her own youngest at home on her own temporarily, and when she got home, the infant was, not breathing already.
The D.A. believed, that Yang was responsible for raising up, for keeping the infant healthy, which she’d failed in doing, knowing that her infant daughter had no way of helping her self, she’d still, left her home alone, and this constituted as intentionally harming a child, and the maximum sentence this carried is life in prison.
And this woman DESERVE to spend the rest of her life behind bars, so she can think about what she’d done (or in the case, didn’t DO!), for her own young infant daughter. And it’s because of her carelessness, her not realizing the need of her own infant daughter, that’s, caused her own infant daughter to D-I-E, which made her unfit as a mother, and she deserved the harshest punishment the courts can give her!
