Drowning! Off of the Front Page Sections, translated…
The nineteen-year-old college student, Su went with four friends to the Deity Mountain Waterfalls in Pingdong to visit, he’d not known the depth of the lagoon, and went in for a swim, drowned, and fell into the depth of the lagoon, and, got stuck at the three, four meter deep location; as the divers from the fire department arrived, dove into the depth, dragged Su out, but he’d been under for over half an hour, he had no signs of life by the time they’d pulled him out, and they took him to the hospital, and he’d died.
The Pingdong Fire Department told, that there’d been FIVE cases of drowning in Pingdong since June this year, with six fatalities, the places where the drownings occurred are the fisher wharf in Little Okinawa, the valley of the Egret Bridge of Lai-Yi County, along with the Deity Mountain Waterfalls in Tienwutai County yesterday; the fire department is upping the patrols of the high-risk locations, and reminded the public, to NOT swim there.
Based off of understanding, Su with his four friends traveled to the waterfall for the visit, the group rode their scooters there, Su couldn’t swim, and yet, he’d, went into the water with one of his friends, and, not long thereafter, his friends found Su drowning, they were all in a panic, not knowing what to do, and can only watch him, sink, slowly, into the depth of the lagoon beneath the waterfall.
looks like a good place to go for that swim, doesn’t it???
well, it’s, N-O-T! Photo from online
The friends immediately called the fire department, and on the phones, they were very anxious, told the firefighters, “Someone is stuck in the waters”’ the fire department sent out eighteen rescuers, and, as they arrived, the water was too opaque, they couldn’t see anything from above the waters.
The divers got in, and, they’d, felt around at the bottom of the lagoon, then, at the depth of three, four meters, they’d found Su, and, pulled him back up; by then, the rescue had gone on for half an hour, and Su didn’t have any vital signs, and although he was rushed to the hospitals, he’d still, died, and the police are trying to figure out exactly, what caused this drowning accident.
Because these stupid boys thought that it’s safe, they had NO clue of how dangerous the waters are, and one of them drowned to death, that, was what had, happened, and I’m more than certain, that there must be a “Do-NOT-Swim-Here” sign somewhere on the side of this spot too, it’s just, that these STUPID college kids didn’t read the signs, or maybe, they all thought that they’re, invincible, that nothing, can hurt them, who knows???
