Drunk-driving, with the, SEVEREST, punishment!!! Knowingly, BREAKING, the L-A-W, getting behind the wheels drunk! From the Front Page Sections, translated…
The man, Kuo drove drunk, ran FIVE red lights, causing one death two injuries, the district attorneys indicted him on murder charges; Kuo denied the intent to. The Taipei District Court found him guilty for public endangerment, sentenced him to eight years. The High Courts of Taiwan believed, that as Kuo hit the female motorist, he’d not stopped, continued driving in high speed, that there’s the intent for murder, and changed his charges to murder, sentenced him to twelve years six months, and on the public endangerment charges, he was given six months in prison, and can pay the fines to do away with serving the time.
The district attorneys accused, that in the midnight hours of September 23rd, 2018, Kuo went to Holiday KTV in Wenshan District with friends to drink and sing karaoke, afterwards, he drove out, ran five red lights continually, as he sped across Keelung Road Section 3, he’d rammed over three motorists, and drove into the cars by the road, the female motorist, Chen died on the way to the hospital, the other two motorists had sustained physical injuries.
Back then the BAC showed 1.29 for Kuo, the district attorney reviewed the dash cam, believed that Kuo ignored the traffic signals, and drove forward at over 100 kilometers per hour, running five red lights consecutively, causing death and injuries, that the way Kuo was driving was similar to a “terrorist attack”, he was charged with murder.
In his trial, Kuo was remorseful of how he got behind the wheels drunk, but claimed that he’d not had the intentions to murder anybody. Kuo told that he had two, three cans of beer, and some Whiskey, “I thought I was under control”, “I was intoxicated, so I’d not felt I was, driving too fast.” He’d not remembered if he pressed down on the brake pedals or not.
The district court believed that the district attorney couldn’t prove that Kuo had the intents to murder, and charged him on public endangerment, causing death.
But the Collectivist Courts of the High Courts found, that Kuo knew that he was drunk, and drove, first he’d hit a motorist, and this wasn’t murder; but after he’d hit the motorist, he’d not gotten out of his car to check, but sped forward in high speed, to escape, that this showed his intent of escaping murder, and changed his charges.
The High Courts found that Kuo had injured people in his drunk-driving, sentenced him to six months, and he can pay a fine; the hit-and-run, sentenced him to a year and two months; the manslaughter charges, twelve years, and of the sentences that he couldn’t pay a fine for, totaled up to twelve years six months.
So, this is what you get, for getting behind the wheels drunk, and it didn’t MATTER if you had the intentions of MURDERING someone, people are DEAD and severely injured because of your getting behind the wheels intoxicated, and you deserve the harshest punishment available for your crimes.
