During that Final Call, the Woman Discussed with Her Daughter Who Lives in Japan to Put Dad into a Nursing Home, He’d Told Them, “No Need!”
The sixty-four-year-old woman, Cheng was found by her family, dead in her home, with ligature marks on her neck, external injuries on the back of her head, her sixty-eight-year-old husband, Lee was found, dead by hanging on the roof; the police found, that the woman had discussed with her daughter her husband’s conditions, talked of institutionalizing him, they’d not ruled out that Lee had murdered his own wife, then committed suicide, the district attorneys will autopsy the bodies to clarify the causes of death.
Based off of understanding, both were school teachers, then worked in the cram schools, Cheng taught English, Lee, physical science, they lived at the fourteenth floor of a certain community in Sinchuang, Hsinbei City, and they’d owned the properties on the eleventh floor of their building too, which their daughter who resided and worked in Japan stayed when she’d come back, Lee had records of suicide attempts, but no records of domestic violence.
The police investigations found, that on the morning of the 22nd of this month, the couple went out hiking with the relatives, at around four in the afternoon, Lee took out the trash, and neither was ever seen again. Their daughter would call home at 8:30 in the evening daily on schedule, Lee’s second eldest brother told, that the daughter called her mother on the 22nd, and the mother told her that her father had signs of schizophrenia and depression, and they’d discussed his being sent into a nursing home facility, Lee was close by and stated, “honey, it won’t be necessary, a little while later, you would know how to deal with everything!”
Two evenings ago, the daughter called home again, but nobody picked up, she’d contacted her second eldest uncle, her aunt, and other family members; yesterday morn, four of the relatives came to the apartment, found the doors unlocked, as they’d entered, they were shocked to find Cheng lying on the bed, with blood by the side, they’d immediately called the police.
The police found that there were signs of struggle in the bedrooms, that Cheng had ligature markings around her neck, there was also external injuries on the back of her head, that blood was on the leg of the chair in the room; they’d discovered Lee dead, by hanging, the police’s preliminary examinations of the scene made them believe that they’d been dead for over a day.
The police believed, from examining the evidences on site, that Lee had murdered his own wife then committed suicide, but in a stack of books, they’d found his note, said that he was grateful for his wife for looking after him, that she needs to carry on after he’s gone; the district attorney will examine to find the cause of death.
The neighbors said, that they would interact with the couple by nodding when they’d bumped into each other in the hallways, but, not much beyond that, that they’re not interacting closely with the neighbors at all, and never heard them arguing.
And so, this is, looking like a murder-suicide, but the contents of the suicide note the man left, it’s, misleading, and if this was a murder suicide, it was from how the man felt upset over how his wife was going to institutionalize him, and got angered, and killed her, and there were previous records of the man’s suicidal attempts on file, so, many his suicidal feeling turned, homicidal, after he felt angered by his wife’s institutionalizing him…
