The man, Sun, last July, after asking his father in his seventies for ten thousand dollars N.T. for an investment venture and got turned down, he got angered, and started physically beating his own father, then used the aluminum window frames, the hard concrete and smashed his own father’s head, face, and body, causing his father to die of severe injuries; the district attorney indicted him on murder of his own next-of-kin, asked the courts to give him the death penalty, the judge used the psych evaluation from the Taichung Veteran’s Memorial Hospital that showed that Sun has the diagnosis of “organic mental disability”, that he couldn’t control his behaviors, and sentenced him to life in prison on murdering his own next-of-kin, stripping him of his public post for life, that after he served his prison sentence, he was to be released into the mental institution and stay for three years. This can still be appealed.
Sun (age 41) went to his father’s residence last year on July 25th, and asked for ten million dollars N.T. from his father that he’d wanted to invest the amount, his father refused to give him the amount, the following afternoon, Sun went to his father again, and his father told him no again, after getting rejected a second time, he’d used his bare fist, beaten up his father, dragged his father from the third floor to the first, beaten his own maternal grandmother who tried to prevent him from attacking his own father to injury. Sun used the screen door made of aluminum and smashed his father, then dragged his father outside, and used the fifteen-kilogram weight of road block and smashed his father again.
The police and D.A. investigated, that between the years 2010 and 2013, Sun had records of physically abusing his own father, his daughter, his ex-wife, his maternal grandmother, as his older and younger sister were called in by the D.A., they’d asked the D.A. to hand down the harshest sentence for him, no longer willing to put up with his violence.
The district attorneys asked the courts for the death penalty, that if the diagnoses of mental disorders are confirmed, for the courts to give him life in prison. The Taichung District Court considered that he was registered as a handicap and had been diagnosed with a psychological disorder, that he had records of being treated before the murder; after the murder, the courts asked the Taichung V.M.H. to do a psych evaluation, which confirmed the diagnosis of “organic mental disability”, believed, that Sun wasn’t aware enough of his own behavior, when he’d attacked his own father, and reduced his sentence according to the law had stated.
And so, this is really bad, because you murdered your own father, and you got away with the death penalty, because you have a mental condition, and that’s still NOT considered JUST enough for the family members who are alive, but hey, based off of the U.N. (I think it was!), you’re NOT supposed to give anybody with a mental condition the DEATH penalty! But hey, look on the bright side (silver lining anyone???), this loser will be TORTURED by his own guilty conscience until he dies, so that ought to be, punishment enough!
