The man, Gu who has schizophrenia suspected that his mother added poisons in the dumplings she’d served him, he’d beaten his own mother to death, three days later, he’d called up the funeral home, and that was when his bad behaviors were found out. The Yilan District Court considered his mental state as he’d committed the murder, and, reduced his sentence, charged him with murdering his own next of kin, sentenced him eighteen years, and after serving, he would need to be in protective custody for five years, the High Courts maintained the rulings. As Gu heard the verdict, he’d called out he was innocent, that he’d been, framed.
Gu (age 59) had a history of mental illness, has a severely mentally ill manual. On the afternoon of September 11th two years ago, he’d called the funeral home to help with his mother’s final affairs, because there wasn’t a death certificate, the funeral home reported it to the police. The police found Gu’s mother to have external head injuries, and chased the leads, and discovered that she’d been beaten to death by him.
During the interrogations, Gu said that his mother choked on the wonton and died, then, claimed that he’d found the dumplings with chive fillings his mother made had a bad smell, suspected that she’d added some pesticides to kill him, he got worked up, and swung at her, she fell to the ground.
The judge based off of the coroner’s report, believed that Gu’s mother died on September eight, and that she’d started, vomiting, as her son was beating her up, she’d sustained multiple contusions, hemothorax, multiple contusions, fractures on her left chest, she’d died of respiratory failure.
The families told, that as Gu relapsed, he’d become, emotionally unstable, and physically violent, that over a decade ago, he’d attacked his own mother with a knife, as his younger brother tried to grab the knife, he was injured, Gu’s mother escaped, and, his younger brother couldn’t take it, and moved out.
During the trial, Gu admitted that he knew he “may kill his own mother” as he was beating her up, the courts fund him to have intentionally murdered his mother.
The psych evaluation from the Bo-Ai Hospital found, that Gu suffers from paranoia and delusions, that although there wasn’t any voice commending him to kill, but he had, lost his sense of reality, and ability to control his own impulses at the time of the murder.
The High Courts believed that when he was beating his own mother, he’d lost sense of his external environment, that he showed a decline in judgment, and sensory input, but not to the point that he wasn’t able to control himself, the first trial gave him eighteen years. in order to prevent him from committing a similar crime, there would be a need for five years of probative custody after he’d served his time.
And so, this loser still got away from the DEATH penalty, on counts of proven insane, and that’s just it, there are, so many people who are symptomatic of schizophrenia, and they’re able to get away from the death penalty when they committed murders.
