Eight Minutes After She’d Set Out to Climb the Bilu Mountains, the College Female Student Fell to Her Death

The Hiking Club’s Twenty-One-Year-Old Female Student of Taipei University, Fell Down the Thirty-Meter Slopes, the Members of the Club: the Trek is Beginner Level, but the Hikers Believed that the Mountain was, Difficult to Climb.

There were, Sixteen Members of the Taipei University’s Hiking Club who’d Signed to Climb the “Four Hottest Mountains Across Taiwan”, the Bilu Range, They Started Out at Seven in the Morn, and Not Long Thereafter, the Female Student, Chien Fell Off of the 820 Forest Trek’s Slopes that was Thirty Meters Deep, Suffered Head and Hand Traumas, and Although the Rescuers Performed CPR on Her, She’d Still Died, and Her Body Was Lifted up by the Rescue Team up to the Hiking Trail, Released Back to the Families.

The Taipei University set up a two day one night itinerary, the accident occurred on the first day, the hiking team didn’t tell the school of this activity, and after the accident, the school was then, notified, and they’d, contacted the 21-year-old student, Chien’s families, to rush to Nantou to handle her final affairs.

The Bilu Ranges, the Pingfeng Ranges, the White Aunt, the Ram’s Head, were noted as the “Four Hardest Ranges of the Highway Crossing Taiwan”, one of the hundred tallest ranges of Taiwan, the views from up the mountains are unimaginable, the Takoro National Park Management stated, that the university hiking team had, applied for the entrance forms, and they were scheduled to come down the trails today, but the climb was very dangerous, and there were, the roads with the landslides, and if you want to hike, you’d needed to be, fully, equipped, with everything.

The press interviewed the senior members of the Taipei University Hiking Club, who’d conducted the rescue efforts from a distance, he said, that this trail was completely, beginners’ level, “they’d not gone beyond what they were, capable of handling, that where the member of the club had slipped, wasn’t a dangerous area, that nothing was off with the ropes, that she may have, fallen off the slopes by accident, that the club would use the funds saved for the tragedies, to give to the family.

The interviewed experienced member of the hiking club told, that the Bilu Trails are beginners’ level hike, that even someone with absolutely no hiking experiences can tackle it, and the sight where the accidental fall occurred was only eight minutes from the starting point, that the location had a landslide, then, the hikers made a way, although, a bit narrow, but the land was, stable, the hikers all set up the ropes, and, it’s not hard for those without any hiking experiences to get across.

But, the experienced hikers told, that the Bilu Mountain range is located on the northwest of the Dayu Slopes, very beautiful sight but, there’s, that steady slope upward that’s not really easy to hike up, and norther, you can climb over the Ling-Ming, the Wuming, the Central Sharp Ranges, the famous, hiking up and down the central mountain ranges, the trek is, very difficult, and there were, a lot of accidents that’s, happened in this trek.

The primary passage way onto the Bilu Mountains is the tunnel and the forest treks, yesterday, that college hiking club set out at seven at the entrance of the hiking trail, not long afterwards, Chien lost her foothold, fell to the slope that’s, thirty meters down, the rest of her hiking party immediately, rushed down to rescue her, but, Chien had severe laceration on her head, elbow fracture, was immobilized, and, she’d lost signs of life at 9:45 in the morning.

The Ren-Ai Fire Department subunit in Nantou sent out the rescue squads, the rescuers arrived at the site by eleven in the morn, by then, Chien had sustained fatal injuries, and had died, and, all the rescuers could do, was to use the rope and the suspenders, to lift her body back up.

And so, this, is underestimating the dangers of the hiking trails, even IF a hiking trail is labeled as “easy” or “beginners”, you still should be very careful, because, if you underestimated the dangers of the mountains, and overestimated your own abilities, this is, what can happen to you.  It’s tragic!
