Another house fire, that took lives! Off of the Front Page Sections, translated…
The ninety-five-year-old elderly woman, Chang living in the city of Taipei, looked after her own eldest paraplegic sixty-seven-year-old eldest son, Sun, in the early morning yesterday, there was a house fire suddenly, the elderly couldn’t get out, got trapped in the bathroom, as she was rescued out, she’d stopped breathing, was rushed to the hospital for the emergency resuscitation measures; Sun was found caught, in the bedrooms, and by the time the rescuers found him, he was, already, burned up, the house fire caused one death, one in critical condition.
Based off of understanding, the elderly woman, Chang lives on the fourth floor of an apartment building in Roosevelt Road, Sec. five, she has five children, the eldest daughter lives out of country, while the other three children live around the island, only her son, Sun, who’d had surgery on an aneurysm which caused him to become a paraplegic thirty-one years ago who’s, living with her.
At 5:08 in the morning yesterday, the fire department received a call stating the elderly woman’s apartment was on fire, they’d rushed over in just four minutes, and saw smokes coming out of the fourth floor, and the suspected ignition point was in the bedroom; the fire department evacuated the other residents from the other five apartments, used the ladders, the hoses, to attempt to put out the blaze, and sent another crew into the property, they’d found Chang the elderly woman, passed out in the bathroom.
As she was pulled out, she’d, stopped breathing, the paramedics rushed her to the Wanfang Hospital, she’s still not out of danger right now. Twenty minutes later, the fire was put out, the firefighters entered into the property, and found Sun lying on the bed in the bedroom, already, completely, burned.
The police investigated, that the elderly woman’s three other children who live in Taiwan would visit regularly, and to help her clean up, that two days ago, one of her children had visited her, and nobody expected that this accident happened on Mother’s Day.
The firefighters found, that the fire wasn’t huge, only about fifteen square meter’s surface area, and deducted that Chang was elderly, and, not as mobile, and she’d, hidden in the bathrooms, upon discovering there was a fire, but, the bathroom doors weren’t sealed completely, she’d, inhaled too much smoke, and was in a coma.
Sun’s bedroom was burned up the most, the fire department suspected that that was where the fire started, that he may have been immobilized, and couldn’t escape; there wasn’t any electric appliances in the room, no specific source of where or how the fire may have started, the cause of this house fire is, being investigated on.
And so, this, is quite tragic, with the son dead, and the mother now, in a comatose, and nobody knows, how this fire got, started…
