The House Fire on Mother’s Day, Separated the Families Between Life & Death

A two-story mansion in Taoyuan caught on fire in the midnight hours of yesterday, the three members of the Chien family were saved, out of six, two others escaped in time, but the second daughter, the thirty-nine year-old couldn’t get out in time; the four children of the Chien household were all registered as handicapped individuals, Chien told, that before he went to bed, he saw his second daughter playing with a lighter, the police and fire department aren’t ruling out that that was, what cause the fire, they will be investigating the matter further.

The police and fire department investigated, the seventy-six-year-old Chien and his sixty-six year-old wife, Liu, along with their two sons, two daughters live in the two-story mansion, the property was owned by Chien’s niece, Chien made a living collecting the recyclable materials, all four of his children are handicaps; at around 4:30 in the morn yesterday, the second-floor of the property caught fire, and because the recycled materials were all over the home, the fire burned out of control.

By the time the fire department arrived, the two sons were already outside, the firefighters broke the door down, rescued the eldest daughter out, then, on the back of the second floor, they’d rescued the couple, Chien’s wife was rushed to the hospital due to smoke inhalation, and burns on her arms, she was intubated; in the end, the firefighters found the second daughter, the thirty-nine-year-old woman, dead in the staircase, the fire was finally put out at 5:14 in the morning yesterday.

Chien told, that before he went to bed last night he’d went around the room, he saw his second daughter playing with a lighter, he’d confiscated it from her, as the fire got started in the midnight hours of yesterday, he was waken up by his wife, and the fire was already burning hard, it was too late to put it out with the water he had access to from his own bedroom then.

The fire department told, that the point of origin, from the preliminaries, was in the bedroom in the front of the second floor, and, they’d needed further investigation to see if the fire got started, from the daughter playing with the lighter; in the past decade, the Chien household ad three fires, there were, the recycled papers, a ton of junk on the property, which made it harder to get through, plus, the rooms’ beams and boards were all wood, very flammable.

The man in charge of the local borough told, that there were huge amounts of recycling materials stacked up in the home, that the locals had sought out help from the cleaning crew to clean it up, it didn’t work, and the neighbors had, complained repeatedly, that hopefully, this time, they can, get rid of it completely.

And so, this woman has a history of playing with fire, so, it’s more than likely, that she’s, started the fire, and, she’d, died in the fire that she started herself.
