The Woman with Master’s Degree Murdered Her Own Mother as She Was Relapsing from Her Schizophrenia, Sentenced to Eighteen Years in Prison

After the psych evaluations, off of the Front Page Sections, translated…

The Forty-Four Year-Old Woman Who Received a Master’s Degree in the U.S., was Suspected of Beating Her Own Mother to Death with a Bat, and Falsely Told the Police that Her Mother was Injured by Someone Else, the Shihlin District Courts Believed, that Although Lin is Diagnosed with Schizophrenia, as She was Committing the Murder, She Still Knew Right from Wrong, and Tried to Get Herself Free of the Charges, Charged Her with Murdering Her Next-of-Kin, Sentenced Her to Eighteen Years in Prison, This Can be Appealed.

Lin’s younger cousin told yesterday, that eighteen years is too light, that he will ask the district attorney to file for an appeal there are, so many murderers who escaped punishment using claims of schizophrenia, the courts couldn’t function as they should anymore, like the random murders in Hsintien, the stabbing of the railroad police, there weren’t that many cases of random murders, and now, these are, on the increase.

For this case, the Shihlin District Court had asked the N.T.U. psychiatric department and Professor Ming-Jie Lin for the evaluations, and the psych evaluations showed, that Lin has paranoid schizophrenia, and auditory hallucination, but her testimonies from before and after the evaluations didn’t match up, she’d lied to the police, and in the evaluations, she’d admitted that she was afraid of getting the death penalty, evaded telling the police the details of the case; the judge believed that the motives of her crimes are related to her paranoid schizophrenia, but she still maintained control over her impulses and her behaviors, she could choose to, stop beating her mother.

On the morning of March 1st, 2019, Lin suspected that her mother took the appeals paper she wrote of a company, and believed that her mother put four one-hundred dollar bills inside a glass jar, to curse her to die, she’d first made a call to threaten her own mother at home, “give me back my papers, or I shall kill you!”, then, smashed up the glass jar, and dumped the broken glass inside her mother’s bedroom.  As the mother came home, the daughter held a knife to her neck, as the mother broke free, she’d, run into her bedroom, and was cut by the pieces of broken glass her daughter placed in her bedroom.

Lin left home, then, came back, with a bat, and started beating her mother from behind, and, stomped her mother’s upper back hard, and as she saw her mother bleeding on the floors, she’d not called the police, she’d gone to take out the trash downstairs, and, as she’d returned two hours later, saw that her mother wasn’t breathing, that was when she’d called the fire department.  Lin lied to the police, that her mother was beaten up outside, but her lies were busted by the surveillance camera in her neighborhood, and the autopsy reports.

The psych evaluation pointed out, that Lin was an only daughter, and as she was growing up, she was verbally abused by her own father, which caused her to feel this lack of connection toward her family, plus she was bullied in school, and as she married in the U.S., she was, physically abused by her husband, in the end, she had a serious car crash, after she divorced, she’d come back to Taiwan, lived with her mother, and her mother nagged her about being a blood sucker.

The judge believed that Lin didn’t show any gratitude toward her mother for raising her, used the brutal, torturous methods and murdered her mother, misled the police in the investigation, and to the point of when the closing arguments were presented, she’d still, only admitted to arguing, and fighting with her mother, that she’d not examine herself, and admit to her own bad behaviors, sentenced her to eighteen years for physically assaulting, killing her next of kin.

And so, this, is still, the end results, of all those things that built up, and, the woman may have schizophrenia, but that wasn’t the primary cause of her murdering her mother, it’s a combination of how she was raised, plus her way of interpreting things, it’s still, an interaction of nature AND nurture, that’s, caused this woman to, brutally, murder her own mother.
