After the School Stopped Holding the Classroom Sessions Us & Distance Between Distance-Education

Commentaries, on the new modes of learning, off of the Front Page Sections, translated…

In the height of MERS-CoV, under the two major requirements of not holding the classroom sessions, and continued learning, the heads of the education facilities started, setting up long-distance education means, and, the various grade levels, the various schools are all, onboard, to try to lessen the impact of learning not attending the classes brought.  The education forum had been, advocating digital long-distance education for over twenty years, and it should NOT be halted, due to the personal data security issues on ZOOM, instead, we should, solve the problems in data breaching, and, fully, set up the systems, equipped for long-distance education, to increase the quality of education offered to the students in this country.

We’d been chasing to reach the goals of offering equal education opportunities, but, for many years, we’d not, shortened the gaps, the key lies in how the qualifications of the instructors, the equipment needed, along with the culture considerations not being met.  Using the long-distance education matter, surely, it shortens the gap, this is, an opportunity; on the other hand, our country’s regions are, lagging behind in the high-tech availabilities.

The generation gap versus the learning gap.  The modern day students were all born as “digital natives”, they were, bathed in high-tech since birth, and in the futures, the world is marching towards A.I., A.R., V.R., and M.R. realms.  Their ways of life, thought processes, as the way they learn, is totally different, compared to this past generations of “digital immigrants”.  And, if the sole purpose of distance education is to make up for the lacking in the face-to-face interactions in the courses, it wouldn’t, fit to their, learning needs, let alone, start up this, revolution in learning.  Only by bringing the gaps of the generations closer, can we, avoid this learning gap, and make long-distance education, more meaningful.

Individual differences vs. learning gap.  The new curricula for 2020, in shifting the focus on the learners’ autonomy, noting the learners’ differences, allowed the students, the schools, the teachers, to operate under the multi-faceted learning processes, to help the students tapped into their, areas of interests.  And so, once the schools stop their, sessions, based off of the professionalism of education, long-distance education means would be one of many choices the students can use to learn, not the only option, there are, other forums, platforms, or systems, other than ZOOM; and reading the classic literature, thinking in depth, creative thinking skills, discovering of hands-on, the micro GAP YEAR, etc., etc., etc., all of these, can be used as learning methods, when the schools aren’t, holding the classroom learning sessions.  Advocating one form of methods of education, preferring a certain software program for learning, ignoring how there are, differences in learning of the students, aren’t you worried, of this, narrowing the sole focal point in learning, and deepening the gaps of learning?

There shouldn’t be TWO standards in fighting the outbreaks, but, there can be, multiple options in distance education; toward this new virus, learning to be humble, facing the eras of brand new learning modes, I look forward to more tolerance, and encouragement!

And so, this, is how multivariate the methods of learning the world is, welcoming in right now, there’s not just the long-distance education of the online classes that we had back then, there’s also, the new interactive sessions from the comforts of the students’ own home too, and, it’s important, that even though the schools are still, out, learning continues, but, it’s not going to be easy, because, at home, we have the tendency, to SLACK off, because, it’s not the same as, going into a lecture hall, sitting and listening to the professors, Y-A-P!  And you would need a ton of stamina, to keep yourself constantly learning, outside of the lecture hall setting, especially at home, because we all have the tendency, to SLACK off, outside of where we work, don’t we???
