Written by a physical therapist, on the importance of educating the younger generations about the means of contraction of MERS-CoV, off of the Front Page Sections, translated…
Due to the outbreak of MERS-CoV, all the schools are now, very tense, worried that these kids who are, hard to control, may contract the virus too. This caused a ton of my friends who are school officials to be anxiety ridden and worrisome!
A friend shared, “the high school students felt it inconvenient to wear the surgical masks, and that it’s, very stuffed up (even the good students in class refused to wear). As the teachers demand them to wear it, and they don’t, it’s, their ways of, rebelling against, authority, and it felt, really cool.”
This statement that’s, confusing and quite, trying, made me wonder, what’s the real reason behind the students not wanting to, wear the surgical masks?
If the students are rebelling, for rebellion’s sakes, then, the best way is to take them to see how the masks are made. Especially, as the disasters hit, the enterprises stopped, competing with one another, the government led the community to stick together, no resting, just to, give those, “life-saving” surgical masks to be available to all! This sort of surgical masks were, made with love!
If the students felt annoying that they can’t breathe freely under the masks, then, take them to see, how harsh the germs gets, passed around in the world, it’s something you can’t hide from. Recently, there are, a lot of those who’d been diagnosed with MERS-CoV who’d spoken up and out internationally, for instance, the British female bodybuilder, showing the world that it’d felt like a thousand knives in her chest, telling the world how scary MERS-CoV truly is; another footage was, of how the lower thorax of the patient kept vibrating, and looking thrilled because s/he couldn’t, get enough air into her/his lungs! These sorts of situations, none of us want it to happen to ourselves, or every and anyone around us.
And so, putting that mask on, it’s not just for the sake of “self-preservation”, but also, helping to protect others as well, it’s a responsibility for the citizens here, especially during times of an outbreak, the teachers, the students, the public need to, learn this, important lesson of life. I believe, that until we can, better understand the impacts of this illness, then we will be able to, put our knowledge to full use, to face the harder challenges that come our ways next!
And so, wearing these surgical masks is not just to protect others, but ourselves as well, and, if you don’t want to protect others, then, think of protecting yourselves, especially as MERS-CoV is transmitted through saliva contact, and, it would be, next to impossible, to spit on someone (not intentionally of course, unless the individual pisses you off!) when the two of you are, talking together, especially, when you’re, in an, enclosed space, this is, too important!
