We felt compelled to, run from, these shadows, of our, pasts, without knowing, that we’re, running, from what made us into, who we currently are! Run from, these shadows, of our, pasts, we’d tried, put one foot, in front of the other, and kept at it, for years, and years, and years, even, decades on end, and, our pasts always, get ahead of us, it’s, always, right there, waiting for us, at the turn, of that, next corner we’re, headed towards…
Run from, these shadows, of our, pasts. I’d, thought ‘bout, turnin’ ‘round and ask these shadows of my pasts, why they’re, chasing after me, but, the thought of me, getting caught, and swallowed whole by them, that just, compelled me, to keep on, trying, to escape them! Run from, these shadows, of our, pasts, we can’t, but we can’t face up to them yet, so, we, hastened our, paces, moved along in the world, quicker and quicker, until, we’re, all way too old, to run as fast, and, those shadows of our pasts, they seemed to have, aged too, must’ve, grown too weary and tired, chasing after us, and so, in the end, we’d, become, one with, these shadows, of our, pasts…
being chased, and that’s why, you’re, compelled to, R-U-N!!!
Run from these, shadows, of our pasts, we can’t, we can run from them, but we can’t hide, not forever, and eventually, we all, gotta face UP to the past, I just hope, it’s not, too late for a lot of you out there, ‘cuz I’d seen, firsthand, what this sort of, escaping, avoiding, running away, can do, to do someone’s, life, and hadn’t you been, keepin’ up here? Or, am I still, just, moving, way too, FUCKING (oopsy!!!) fast for all y’all now, huh???
