He’d Murdered His Own Older Brother as He Relapsed, the D.A. Recommended Him for a Reduced Sentence, and Placed Him in an Institution

A man, Fan who’d been diagnosed with schizophrenia originally lived closely with his own, older brother, last October, as he’d had a relapse, he’d used a hammer, and smashed his own older brother to death, until three days later, his friends found what he’d done, the Kaohsiung D.A.’s office prosecuted him on the murder of his own older brother, but they’d asked the courts to have him get a psych evaluation, to see if when he’d murdered his own brother he was incapacitated mentally, and the sentence would be reduced accordingly.

The district attorneys investigated, that Fan, in his thirties, started showing psychotic symptoms a little over a decade ago, and started acting violently, he’d abused cats, dogs, smashed up cars, had been hospitalized for treatment, in recent years he’d lived with his own older brother in Gushan District, they got along quite well.

But, last year on October first, Fang had a relapse, lost emotional control, smashed his own older brother’s head, neck, chest, and limbs with a hammer, causing his brother to have cranial fracture, hematoma, hemothorax, he’d sustained multiple fractures all over his body, was injured, very severely; after Fang committed the crime, he’d not sought out help, wandered in and out of his home, and, although the neighbors heard the crimes and the screams, the smacking of the wooden door panels, but they’d not, paid any attention, and Fang’s older brother died, on the living room floor.

At three in the morn on the third of the same month, Fang sat at the roadside betel nut stand, as a friend, Song passed him by, he’d inquired about his older brother, he’d replied back, “My older brother’s been killed”, Song immediately notified the police, and accompanied them to check.

The D.A. used the related evidence, charged Fang with murder, but they’d believed, that the brothers were close, they’d helped one another out daily, they were, connected, and because Fang was schizophrenic, that was why he’d, murdered, his own, older brother, considering the law and the feelings, they’d asked the judge to reduce or relieve him of his sentence entirely; if Fang’s case didn’t meet the requirements for him not serving any time, after he’d served, Fang should be placed into the custody of the mental institutions, to prevent further chances of him hurting others in public.

And so, this, is what schizophrenia left untreated caused, because the man was delusional, and emotionally unstable, he’d murdered his own, older brother, and because of his mental conditions, the district attorneys asked the courts to reduce his sentence, and placed him into an mental institution, so he can receive the medical treatment he needed.
