Is it a, stillborn? We will have to wait for the autopsy, I’m afraid…off of the Front Page Sections, translated…
A homeless woman, Chang went to the park to go to use the restrooms, was suspected of giving birth prematurely to an infant boy, the homeless man, Song who was with her called for the ambulance to get her to the hospital, and he’d told the paramedics, that Chang fell and injured herself, until the doctors who’d treated her found that she’d given birth recently, that was when Chang admitted to giving birth in the public restrooms. As the police discovered the infant boy in the public restrooms who was a premature birth, he was already, dead; and the police is waiting for the results of the autopsy which will show if the infant was born alive or if he was, a stillborn, the police are looking at charging the woman with abandonment causing death.
The Fire Department of Hsinbei City at around two in the morn received a call from the forty-seven-year-old homeless man, Song, that there was someone who’d tripped and fallen, and injured herself in the Siwei Park in Banciao. As the paramedics arrived, they’d lifted the 28-year-old homeless woman, Chang to the Taipei Hospital’s Sinchuang Branch for treatment. As the doctors examined her, they’d found her to have given birth, and that was when Chang told them the truth, that as she was going to the restrooms in the park, she’d, given birth to an infant, because it was so sudden, she was afraid, she’d not told the paramedics as they came to take her to the hospital.
The police immediately sent the patrolmen to the park to check, and they’d found a newborn infant boy, but he was, already, dead, with the placenta still attached, the police called the forensics to take the DNA and other evidences, and took the body of the infant boy to the Banciao Mortuary.
found by the paramedics…
The homeless man, Song was taken by the police to the substation to tell what happened, based off of understanding, he’d discovered that Chang was pregnant two months back, he’d told her that he can take her to the hospital for the checkups, but she’d, refused, and so, he’d, given up on trying to assist her. The police already notified the Hsinbei District Attorney’s office and the coroner’s office, to check the body of the infant male.
Chang had been out on the streets for a while, her boyfriend, Song worked the odds and ends, worked as a sign holder on the streets, the Hsinbei Social Services had contacted them, told them that they can help them get off the streets, but they both denied the assistance from the government.
And so, this, is truly awful, because the woman gave birth in the public restrooms, and, left her own infant boy (dead or alive, can’t tell yet!) inside the toilets, and the infant was found dead, and the woman will be charged with abandonment at least, if not, negligence homicide, because if the infant was born alive, then, the woman had committed a crime, abandoning her own young, which led to his, death.
