Life, the Obstacle Course

The Chaos of the Masks + the Chaos of Schools Starting, the Citizens Blamed it on the Policy Makers

Policy makers are like G-O-D, barking out orders, and the rest of us are supposed to just, bow and follow those, rules, with a total disregard of how much inconvenience it might cause us, the people who are, working through our lives here!  From the Front Page Sections, translated…

Before the mess from the chaos of the masks got settled, the CDC yesterday, abruptly announced that high school and below won’t be starting school as scheduled, the parents’ objections filled up the FB pages of the Department of Education, the parents blamed the process of making the decisions aren’t carefully considered, the private preschools, the afterschool care programs, the cram schools weren’t being covered by this policy, that it may be a huge hole of how the virus wul2d spread.

After SARS, the avian flu, H1N1, and other major epidemics, the excellence of the preventative measures of this country, isn’t paled by comparison to European or American countries, but, in the assigning of resources, and the matters of preventative measures to take in schools, we were always, far behind.

As the onset of MERS-CoV, the experts of CDC kept reminding the citizens in this country to wear a mask, to clean our hands frequently, and, as these words still echoed in our ears, in a short week after the Chinese New Years, there’s, the frenzy in buying up as many masks as possible by the citizens here.  There’s this shortage of the adult-sized surgical masks, while the infant or children sized, are even, harder, to buy.

Toward the complaints from the public, the CDC immediately changed its claims, that whether it be adults, or children, so long as there are no signs of the respiratory symptoms, or if they’re overall healthy, then, it wouldn’t be necessary for people to put on the masks, but, there’s, already, this fear, this frenzy that got, started.

Outside the mask factories of the southern and central parts of the country, the crowds are already, gathering up, a ton of the locals ran to various super convenience shops, the pharmacies, they just, couldn’t get supplies of the masks.  The original cost of one surgical mask was about $2, $3 N.T.s, after they go into retails, it’d cost $6N.T.s, and the government got blamed, “are you trying to make more money, off of a national crisis here?”

A lot of the other nations, in light of this recent outbreak are, issuing out the surgical masks automatically, to register the users.  Look at Taiwan, we’re still staying at the advising level, hoping that the public won’t hoard the masks, but, as we all fly into a panic, can the words of the government take an effect?

As for how the Department of Education announced yesterday, that elementary, middle and high schools are delaying the start of school, that was, beyond the citizens’ expectations, the process of setting up these policies isn’t completely thought out, it’s a wonder, that as the government posted the statements, the parents are, in doubt.

As you may have imagined, a ton of parents can only, place their young into the after school care programs, the cram schools, and, even if, by so doing, the children are able to dodge the MERS-CoV, but, they’d, neglected this current strand of the flu virus, a short while ago, the medical field only stated how this season of flu virus had taken over hundreds of lives already, that the public should be careful, and made more aware of how deadly this current strand of the flu virus is.

What’s more worrisome, the private preschools, the afterschool care programs, the cram schools, weren’t involved in the policies of disease control, the Department of Education only stated, “Need to Enforce the Testing, and Management” for the matter, but in actuality, in the middle school, elementary school levels, the system of disease control should be, even tighter.

“Doesn’t the government call that people who are healthy don’t need the masks?  That the illness is being, controlled?”, if so, then, why is the start of school being, delayed?  A parent posted the doubts on the discussion boards on the Department of Education’s FB pages, I’m sure, that the rest of the citizens in this country is also, wondering the exact same things too.

In order to prevent the community infection chains nationally, the CDC’s working hard can’t be denied, but, the CDC didn’t work hand-in-hand with the Department of Economics, the Department of Education, along with other departments, to get all their resources together, the disease control in schools, always, seemed to have been, lacking somewhat, not having a complete set of principles, standardized operating procedures, that, is the biggest failure currently.

And, this writer said it all right!!!  Because we all flew into a feeding frenzy, as we’d realized, how quickly this current strand is killing others all around the world, we are too scared, and we go out, grab onto those life vests (the masks, the hand sanitizers, which are all, in shortage right now!!!), and the government should’ve done better, in educating the people, on the preventions of spread, instead of allow the citizens, to be ruled by this unfounded fear…
