Through the span of her dementia, I watched her become forgetful, giving her family members troubles, when at the beginning stages of it, she’d, bought the repeated groceries, and, constantly, accused everybody she knows, of, taking her money from her, of stealing the items that she owned.
Through the span of her dementia, we watched, we’d, medicated her, but, the medications can only, do very little, I mean, it’d, delayed her from entering, into the progressed stages of dementia for awhile, but, eventually, the, inevitable still came, she’d, gotten, into the more progressed stages, and, she had, countless infections, pneumonia, urinary tract infections, and every time her white blood cell count hiked, we’d, felt so thrilled, and rushed her to the hospitals!
Through the span of her dementia, I kept, wondering, if those classes I took her to, did anything FOR her, I mean, you’re, supposed to, stay active in life, to avoid the deterioration of the mind, right? WRONG! She was active in sports, a very good cook too, back when she was young, and yet, dementia still, came around her back, stealthily, to ATTACK her just the same.
Through the span of her dementia, now she’s, progressed, into the later stages, to the point that she stopped, eating, and drinking, and just, slept, for the most of the days, and, when she’s awake, she couldn’t, do anything, but lie in that bed, and, stared, at the ceilings………
Through the span of her dementia, during the beginning stages, we’d, done all we could, to delay the progressions, put her on meds, took her to interactive elderly classes, but by the later stages, she’d, lost interest in everything, and then, she lost her mobility, and everything came, tumbling down, one by one, and now, dementia’s, finally done with her, as she struggled, with that final breath of her life.
