And this, would be, W-H-Y, you should NOT be anywhere NEAR anything that MOVES, if you’re, intoxicated, hello, hello, hello??? Deaths, by “accident”, from the Front Page Sections, translated…
They’d, Sailed out as the Tides Were, Receding, and Couldn’t Return Back to Shore, Stayed Adrift for Ten Hours at Least, as the Man Who was Rowing Got Washed Ashore, Went Home to Sleep, as He Woke Back Up, He’d, Learned of How His Companions Didn’t Make It.
A Party of Seven Men & Women Two Afternoons Ago were Having a Barbecue by the Beach in Taipei Port, Three of the Men Rowed Out on an Assembled Boat Out to Sea, but, the Tides Were Receding and They Couldn’t Get Back in; the Small Boat Drifted Along in the Oceans for Ten Hours, then the Waves Tipped It Over, Three Fell in, and the Rower, Chen, was Washed Up Ashore, and, Called a Friend to Help the Other Companions, then, He’d, Headed Home to sleep, after He Woke Up, He’d Learned, that of the Two Other Female Companions Who Went out with Him One Died, One was in, Critical Condition, He was Charged with Manslaughter.
Based off of understanding, Chen (age 55) who lives in Sinchuang, is a temporary welder, because he loved to fish, he’d, built up a workers’ shack by the seaside, to put his fishing gears, and a small boat, and he’d, invited his friends over for a drink, to have some teas, to share conversations with.
Two afternoons ago at around four, Chen had invited three men, three women to his shack to have a barbecue, with alcohol, by five in the evening, the women, Tseng (age 61), and Tsai (Age 47) said that they’d, never been out on a boat, Chen then picked up the double oars, took the two females out on a small assembled boat without motors to sea.
They’d started, rowing after they were already, intoxicated, and the tides had, receded, they couldn’t, row themselves back to shore, but the skies were, getting dark, the wind and the waves, increased, none had a cell phone, couldn’t call for help. The other friends, who’d stayed onshore saw how they were only, 200 meters out, that they’d not thought anything was up, and later on, someone thought they’d been out at sea too long, and used a flashlight to shine out, but, he’d not, gotten, a clear enough look, then, returned back to the worker’s shack to continue drinking, and, passed out.
a small raft, in the midst, of a thunderstorm…
with the seas, getting choppy! Photo from online
The small boat was adrift on the seas for about ten hours, until two in the morning yesterday, it’d, drifted, southward to the seaside trek, the waves swept it over, all three fell in. Not long afterwards, Chen, and Tseng who was passed out from drowning were, swept up to shore.
Chen immediately run back to the shack to call for help, Chang and his wife drove Tseng to the Fujen Catholic University to intubate, but she is in a coma. Back then, Tsai was, still missing, the other man who was in the shack, Hsu finally called the police for help, and it was, already, three in the morn.
The Hsinbei Fire Department notified the Coastguards, the Air rescue teams, set out the choppers, the rafts, it wasn’t until 6:55 in the morn, did the rescuers find Tsai who got washed up ashore next to the pebbled beach, without signs of life, they’d, rushed her to the Changgang Hospital in Linkou, but it was, too late.
As the rescue was happening, nobody can find Chen who’d, already, gone home, he’d received a call from a relative, “The cops had been looking for you!”, it wasn’t until ten in the morning yesterday, did he go to the local substation. Chen told, because he was completely wet, cold and tired, he’d, gone to the temple by the seas, to beg the guardians to keep his female friends who’d fallen into the oceans safe, then he’d, returned home, to change his clothes, and, fell asleep because he was, too tired.
And yeah, this was, a manslaughter charge all right, even though you didn’t directly CAUSE your friends to die, but it’s because of your lacking in awareness, that they had died, and, alcohol played a vital part in the woman’s death, which still showed, how you should NOT get drunk, especially, when you’re out in a place, that you’re, NOT really, familiar with, because accidents like these, WILL happen!
