This past holiday long weekend, there were, the cases of delivery motorist accidents, it’d, made us, more aware of, just how dangerous their, working environment is.
Because of how busy modern day people are living, a lot of people are using their lunch hours to set up meetings, or how as the working women headed home from work, they’d, not felt like cooking anymore, it’d, increased the need for the meal delivery services. And, this development of convenience also, saved the troubles of the shops, to not need to hire their own workers to delivery the meals. And also, there was, the 100K a month salary that became, appealing to the younger generations who are only making 22K a month switch tracks, or those in their midlife years who wanted, to work in the delivery service industries. This looked like a win-win for all on the surface, but, the risk of getting the meals delivered on time, in greatly increased when there’s, the rush, and when accidents do happen, who is, responsible, for the safety of the deliveryperson (her/himself), or the restaurants where, the foods are, picked up? This, is a topic of discussion.

And, if injuries do happen in these deliveries, is it, constituted, as injuries on the job? Based off of the rules of occupational public safety, the physical injuries of delivery persons, DOES fit to the criteria for injuries on the job. But, these delivery platforms, didn’t have the labor insurances for the delivery persons, and so, all of these workers, need to unionize themselves, or to take the risk upon themselves. So, there are the news media that stated how the delivery persons are, making such a high pay, but, behind that, there’s, the risk of one’s own physical safety, each and every time the motorists go out to make the deliveries.
Let’s take a look, at the other countries’ insurance measures for the deliverypersons, the food delivery platforms in the U.S., as soon as the orders were placed on the apps, and the moment the deliveryperson sets out, the insurances are, in effect. The cause of the accidental insurances really isn’t that high, it’s just, whether or not the employers are, willing to pay for it.
And, lastly, I want to talk about the effect of interpersonal relationships of the meal delivery services. The internet is without boundaries, a lot of people are working at home, using the internet, making the restaurant reservations, hotel reservations, but I’d, felt, that this, lacked the face-to-face contact needed. So, even though the internet makes it convenient, I’d still, from time to time, set up my meal reservations, by calling into the restaurants, to write the cards to my friends, and families, so we can feel that genuine care and concern to and from. My child felt that the delivery services are really convenient, they can stay at home and do his own thing, but, I’d, rarely, let him, why? Because, although the delivery services are, convenient, it’d made, many more geeks in the society, and, forced the delivery persons to take on more risk than they had to.

I want to go out of the house, to dine, to work out a bit, and to, reduce the use of the one-time utensils, and I get to, come into contact with a ton of, different people, it’s, convenient for others, and, benefit to the self, if there’s, no pressures of time, why don’t we, stop ordering in, and just, go out to eat more?
And so, because there’s the need, for the meal services to get delivered to our doors, that’s why, this industry of delivery services like UBEREATS, Food Panda is on the rise, and, the writer mentioned, how these workers are, not even, insured, because they’re NOT members of the restaurants where the foods were, being picked up, and so, it’s, not really safe for these motorists that are, riding up and down the city streets, making deliveries, and so, why not, the next time you want to eat something, just go out, to the place, and eat it, instead of, feeling lazy, NOT wanting to, go outside, and pick up your cell phones or landlines, and ordering in? Besides, the delivery persons are, someone ELSE’s BABIES too, would YOU want your children to ride in these, unsafe conditions? I wouldn’t think so!
